Emma looks like she didn't get a wink of sleep last night. I should have just stayed here with her. I didn't realize she was feeling alone through this. But I guess I could see it.
I glance at the clock in her kitchen and it reads 8:30.
I walk into the bathroom where she is finishing applying some lip gloss. "Em, it's 8:30, we should get going."
She looks at me and nods her head. She grabs my hand and looks at me "thank you for being here with me today. It means a lot." I kiss her and tell her "nothing would keep me away from today." She smiles lightly and leads us to the door of her apartment.
She makes sure she has her insurance card and phone and grabs her purse. She locks the deadbolt behind us. I put my hand on the small of her back and guide her to the elevator.
She hasn't said much which worries me. She leaned her head on my shoulder and I kissed her head. I'm trying to be comforting, but I've never been in this situation before. What do I do?
