new years eve

i walked into jongin's house and was immediately bombarded with the smell of alcohol. i saw jongin and his boyfriend kyungsoo talking to a group of friends so i made my way over, smiling at kyungsoo when he saw me.

"(y/n), you're here!" he said. he rushed to me and latched his arms around my neck. i smelt the alcohol on his mouth when he leaned in to kiss my cheek which made me giggle. he definitely wouldn't be this clingy and open if he was sober.

he dragged me to the group so i said hi to them then i used my attention to try and stop kyungsoo from kissing me. he grabbed my chin again and turned my head to his then stood on his toes to press his lips on mine. i pushed him off, rolling my eyes playfully.

"soo, stop it, you have a boyfriend and he's standing right next to me," i said. i spun him around and gently shoved him into jongin's side.

"sorry about that, he's a lightweight," jongin said.

"don't worry about it," i said. the group of friends they were with said they were going to talk to other people so soon it was just me, jongin and kyungsoo.

"where's chanyeol, could he not come?" jongin asked.

"he's touring right now, he's stuck somewhere in america," i replied.

"that sucks, i'm sorry," he said.

"it's alright, i guess. i'm just upset because it's our first new years as a couple and i won't be with him to kiss him at midnight. i've never been able to do that before."

"i'll kiss you at midnight," kyungsoo said, lifting his head out from under jongin's arm. i have him a weird look and jongin chuckled.

"he's got a little crush on you, it's nothing major," he explained.

"he's your boyfriend," i said.

"we've talked about it and because you're dating chanyeol he knows nothing will happen. plus he said he loves me more and that's all that matters to me," he said. i smiled then wrapped my arms around the couple.

"you guys are my favourite," i said. they hugged me back then kyungsoo smashed all of our faces together and kissed both me and jongin at the same time.

"i love you guys," he whispered.

"alright, i think you need some water," jongin said. he took kyungsoo into the kitchen so i sat down on the couch and watched everyone interact.

at 11:59, jongin called everyone into the living room to prepare for the countdown. i saw everyone grab their boy/girlfriends and i sighed knowing i'd be the only one without someone.

the excitement in the room grew the second the countdown started.

his lips slammed against mine before i could react and my arms snaked around his neck on instinct. we simultaneously pushed ourselves into each other as we kissed out all of the emotions we'd been keeping in during the three months we'd been apart.

when we finally pulled away, i cupped chanyeol's cheeks in mine and stroked his cheeks.

"how are you here?" i asked.

"i told you i couldn't come to keep this a surprise. i've missed you so much and i wanted the first time we see each other again to be special so i thought that coming to give you your first new year's eve kiss would be the perfect opportunity," he said. i smiled and leaned up to kiss him again.

"i love you," i said.

"i love you, too, baby," he said. i kissed him again and smiled into it. best new year's eve.

happy new year, guys! it's officially new year's eve where i am so i wanted to post this and say thank you to all of you. this book hit 30K reads this morning and i'm so happy and grateful that all of you have given it a chance. thank you for contributing to make my year great and i hope we can stay together and have an awesome 2018 too.
