The screech ripped through my ears causing an uncomfortable pain for a few seconds. At first, I thought it was just me that could hear it, but once I'd seen everyone's horrified faces I knew I wasn't the only one.

Once the noise had passed the sound of shuffling could be heard by the entrance to R&D. We all turned our heads to see what it was.

There, coming through the doors, was a smashed-up version of one of Tony's suits. This one seemed as though it was assembled using scraps from a junkyard, with live wires and scratched pieces dangling from the structure.

"Worthy..? No," the suit growled, "How could you be worthy? You're all killers!"

"Stark," Steve addressed him quickly wanting answers. We all did but were too shaken up to say anything.

"Jarvis?" Tony called on the AI but received no response.

"I'm sorry, I was asleep. Or... I was a...dream?" The robot rambled.

"What is it saying, Tony? It doesn't make any sense?" I shuddered.

Tony pulled a device out of his pocket and began tapping away, continuing to try and contact JARVIS, "Reboot, Legionnaire OS, we got a buggy suit."

I stepped forward wanting to get a better look at the suit that was talking. It had gestures and spoke with emotion as if it were a real person.

"There was a terrible noise...and I was tangled in...in...strings. I had to kill the other guy. He was a good guy." The suit narrated.

Steve instantly grabbed my wrist and pulled me back after hearing what the robot had to say. "You killed someone?" He asked.

"Wouldn't have been my first call. But, down in the real world, we're faced with ugly choices," the buggy suit explained.

"Who sent you?" Thor queried.

"I see a suit of armor around the world," Tony's voice played from the suit.

"Ultron!" Bruce exclaimed.

"In the flesh. Or, no, not yet," the robot confirmed his identity. "Not this... chrysalis. But I'm ready. I'm on a mission."

"What mission?" Black Widow asked cautiously as Thor readied his Mjølnir and Maria Hill removed her gun from safety mode.

Of course today of all days my air-blade wasn't strapped onto my hip. It was almost second nature that I carried it everywhere, but a party at the Avengers Tower was the last place I expected there to be trouble and I decided I didn't need to hoist it.

"Peace in our time," Ultron revealed.

With that, the wall behind Ultron burst open revealing dozens of flying suits that soared towards the team.

In a quick attempt to defend the both of you, Steve flipped the table over to deflect the shot that was aimed at you. However, the momentum caused by the bot flying into it knocked the both of you over.

Thor was able to whack on of the suits away with his hammer as Maria Hill hit the ground, taking cover behind one of the couches.

Tony and Rhodey jumped over the overlook landing on the floor beneath the lounge area you were previously mingling in.
Tony was quickly knocked into a bookcase while Rhodes was blasted by the same bot, causing his body to smash through a window and fall several feet onto one of the lower floors.

Thor came through hitting yet another bot with his Mjølnir and allowing Clint the chance to make his escape. You caught the eye of him sliding under one of the desks and you took the opportunity to follow him.
