Sam, Steve, and I were all summoned by Nick Fury. We agreed to meet by his gravestone and the three of us arrived first. Steve was released from the hospital a few days ago and was doing much better. Fury had been in hiding since the Triskelion was destroyed and S.H.I.E.L.D. was officially no more.

"It's a cute little gravestone, isn't it," I remarked as the three of us looked down at it. "It's a shame we never had a real funeral though. I would've had the perfect speech for him."

"It's a shame I'd be too dead to hear it," a voice said from behind.

It was Nick Fury, dressed in a hoodie and sunglasses to hide his appearance. I noticed he wasn't wearing his eyepatch, but I guess it was better to destroy all evidence that he is still alive.

"So you've experienced this sort of thing before." Fury addressed Steve.

He nodded subtly, keeping his eyes on the gravestone that read 'Nicholas J. Fury, The path of the righteous man. Ezekiel 25:17'. "You get used to it."

"We've been data mining HYDRA's files. Looks like a lot of rats didn't go down with that ship." Fury revealed.

It didn't surprise me one bit. I know my parents are still out there. I tried my best to look them up and find their location, but as soon as HYDRA's files we leaked by Natasha Romanoff they vanished. Fell off the grid completely.

"I'm headed to Europe tonight. Wanted to ask if you'd come," Nick said to Rogers first.

"There's something that I've got to do first," Steve told him.

"How about you, Wilson? I could use a man with your abilities," Fury threw out.

Sam shook his head, "I'm more of a soldier than a spy."

Fury then turned to face me, "Sergeant? You know you were always my favorite," he stated.

I chuckled, "S.H.I.E.L.D. is gone and I feel now more than ever we need the Avengers to hold together and we can start by finding the Scepter. We thought it was in safe hands but little did we know we were giving it to HYDRA."

"All right then," Fury understood. "Anybody asks for me, tell them I'm right here." He gestured the gravestone and then shook our hands before walking away. The goodbye was more emotional than I expected it to be.

Fury was the closest thing to a father figure that I had gotten in years and I know Natasha felt the same. It was almost as if a piece of me was leaving with him. I wouldn't be the woman I was today without his mentorship and guidance. Everything Air Blade became was because of him. That's something I'll never forget.

I blinked back a thin layer of tears from my right eye and turned in response to a voice coming from behind us.

"You should be honored," Natasha called out as she approached us with a file in her hand. "That's about as close as he gets to saying thank you."

"Not going with him?" Steve questioned.

"Nah," Natasha said.

"Are you staying here?" I asked, hoping she'd say yes.

"I blew all my covers. I gotta go figure out a new one."

"That might take a while," Steve warned her.

"I'm counting on it," she smiled before handing the file over to Steve. "That thing you asked for, I called in a few favors from Kyiv."

"Can you do me a favor?" She asked before walking over to him and whispering something in his ear. Steve smirked and then bit his lip a little. I tried hard to eavesdrop, but Nat was too good of a whisperer.
