Rhodes and I stood either side of Tony on the ramp of the jet as it slowly began to lower and land at Edwards Air Force Base. Upon rescuing Tony from the middle of the desert, we found he was injured but we didn't have any trained medical professionals on board. We resorted to just giving him a cast for his arm as that was the best we could do but there was probably a lot more damage done.

Rhodes grabbed Tony's left hand while I stood on his right side and placed my hand on his lower back for support as we helped him off the military plane.

"Watch it, coming up here," Rhodes warned Tony as we began walking down the ramp. A stretcher was being pushed towards us by a few paramedics that had been called to come and collect Tony upon his arrival.

"Are you kidding me with? Get rid of them," Tony demanded as he let go of Rhodey's hand and walked over to Pepper who was waiting for him alongside Happy. I followed him as I also wanted to say hi to Pepper. We had become quite good friends as I'd been over to Tony's mansion a couple of times.

As we both reached her I noticed she had been crying, clearly, she was worried about Tony like the rest of us were.

"Your eyes are red," Tony pointed out, "A few tears for your long-lost boss?"

"Tears of joy," she replied smiling, "I hate job hunting."

I giggled turning to Tony, "Damn, she was already replacing you."

"Well, vacation's over." Is all Tony said in response.

The four of us entered Happy's black car, Happy in the drivers seat, me in the passenger and Tony and Pepper in the back.

"Where to sir?" Happy asked putting on his shades and starting the ignition.

"Take us to a hospital, please, Happy." Pepper replied for Tony before he could even get a word in.

"No..." Tony shut her down.

"No? Tony, you probably should go and get checked out," I added.

"No is a complete answer." He declared. Nothing was going to make him budge, but Pepper wasn't budging either.

"The doctor has to look at you!" She said very concerned for her boss.

"I don't have to do anything," Stark argues back, "I've been in captivity for three months. There are two think I want to do. I want an American cheeseburger and the other—"

Pepper butted in again, "that's enough of that."

"—is not what you think." Tony continued, "I want to call for a press conference now."

I turned in my seat to look over at Tony, "Call for a press conference?" I exclaimed extremely confused. After spending all that time in Afghanistan I understand the cheeseburger, I'm dying for one too, but a press conference?

"Yeah." He said matter-of-factly...

Happy did as he was told and drove by Burger King to get Tony a cheeseburger. I took this as an opportunity to get one for myself and I did.

We later arrived at Stark Industries HQ where Tony was greeted by a crowd of reporters and Obadiah Stane before we walked into the building.

Tony walked up to the stand while I stayed behind the reporters with Pepper.

"What do you think he's going to say?" I whispered over to her as she just stood with a black purse in her hands. She was wearing a really nice brown pantsuit with a black t-shirt inside and a gold necklace.
