Shane's P.O.V.
Derek and I have been talking recently and the idea of adopting a child popped into my head. I bit my lip and walked into our room, "Derek baby?" He looked at me, "Yes love?" I sat down next to him and placed a hand on his knee, "I um...want to adopt." He raised an eyebrow, "a cat...dog?" I shake my head, "no....a child."
His eyes widened a bit and he pulls me on to his lap, "A child? Now are you sure this is what you want?" I nod slowly looking at him, "Yes...I've been wanting to be a parent ever since I was little. Please Derek?" He kisses me, "I wasn't going to say no. I was going to say that we should look into it or have a surrogate." I shake my head, "I want to give a child the chance at a better life just like my parents did."
"Let's talk to your parents over dinner about how the adoption process works." I nod and leaned against him, "Would you want a girl or a boy?" He rests his head on mine, "Well we could adopt both at the same time." I can't imagine what it would be like to be a parent or how I would even handle a child.
But I'm willing to do it.
