I can feel my anxiety that was a constant pressure in my stomach is now on my chest. I'm having a hard time breathing. I take a couple deep breaths in and told myself that everything will be fine. Plus, Jimin is by my side.
But I know deep down, I'm anxious to see that one person again after a long while.
I hold onto Jimin's arm as we finally step inside the loud crowd of formally dressed people in their seats and standing, chattering away as they sip their wines and champagne in their hands.
The venue is massive and dim, with illuminated white and blue spotlights towards the expansive centre stage.
There are about hundreds of people already here, dressed in formal clothing. I'm in my silk red knee-high slip-on dress, with my red bottoms to match, while Jimin is dressed in his all black suit. Yoongi and Namjoon who are dressed in white and black, follow behind us as we walk down passing by tables, nodding our heads towards the people bowing to us.
We make it to our designated table and find Junsu, Jin, J-hope and Taehyung standing near it with their drinks in their hands.
I feel a sense of joy to see Taehyung smiling for the first time as he talks with Jin and J-hope. But his smile soon fades once he meets my eyes.
Junsu follows Taehyung's cold eyes and immediately greets us. "Son, y/n! Glad you two are finally here, we're actually about to start."
Jimin and I immediately bow to him to show our respect.
I bow towards Jin and J-Hope, who both seem to be hesitant to greet me back, but eventually bows back, giving me a forceful smile.
I meet Taehyung's eyes again, and I give him a smile. He gives me back a weak smile, making me smile with excitement even if it wasn't a happy smile. But I'm willing to take it, considering it has been a while since he showed any emotion towards me.
I scan my eyes around and realize that a particular person is missing here—Jungkook.
Where is he? Isn't he suppose to be here?
Hyori comes walking with some lady saying her farewell to her then walks towards us. Almost immediately, my mood drops by the sight of that cruel woman.
She gives me a oily smile. "Hello dear, you're looking fabulous tonight."
I look at her with confusion. Why is she suddenly being so nice?
I give her back a fake smile.
"Good that you're here too honey," Junsu holds onto Hyori's waist. Then he turns towards us all. "Please, let's all take out seats now."
"Jungkook is taking too long and haven't even return my calls or messages," Junsu takes a sip of his champagne before placing it onto the table. "I sure hope the boy comes, I swear to God he's gonna get it from me. He's going to embarrass me out here."
"Don't worry dear," Hyori reassures him but then looks at me. "I have a good feeling he's going to come any time now."
Junsu looks at his watch. "I can't wait any second. I should really go up there, I don't want to keep people waiting."
Junsu excuses himself himself, and makes his way up the stage.
Hyori takes her seat beside Junsu's host seat, while the K-Gods seat across us.
Jimin pulls a chair for me, while he sits beside me and on his other side is Hyori and Junsu at the host seats. Yoongi sits on the other side of me and next is Namjoon. Across us are two empty seats, then sat J-hope, Jin and Taehyung.
Why are they leaving those two empty chairs across Jimin and I?
One should be Jungkook but the other? I guess maybe J-hope didn't want to sit right beside him and left a space.
"Hello, everyone! Thank you all for coming here today," Junsu announces onto the microphone, as he stands at the centre stage with all eyes on him. "Now I know you may already have heard the news that I have another son, and I know all of you already him, but today I will formally introduce to you him as my son," he looks towards Jimin and I's direction. "Ladies and gentleman, please give a warm welcome to my eldest son, Park Jimin."
I turn towards Jimin and see his cold expression automatically changes to a more pleasing look. He gives me a quick kiss on my cheek before going up to the stage towards his father. He first bows towards him, then towards the crowd.
"And of course, you all know him, my youngest, Jeon Jungkook," Junsu continues.
But Jungkook is no where in sight. Everyone in the crowd keeps looking around for him. I can see Junsu looking disappointed and Jimin standing there calmly, looking unfazed.
"But the boy is running late or potentially may not come, considering the work load he has to deal with," Junsu says, trying to make up an excuse for his son.
Everyone in the crowd starts to chatter amongst themselves and soon becomes louder.
"Anyways—" Junsu stops as he looks towards the direction where the crowd had suddenly turn their heads at the entrance way of the venue.
Everyone erupts in cheers as they stand up to greet the person who suddenly arrives, blocking my view as the boys, Hyori and I remain in our seats. But something tells me by the furtive look on Hyori's face, it has to be that one person.
I squint my eyes and peer my head up trying to take a glimpse through the standing crowd who are clapping and bowing their heads as the person walks down.
As the person gets closer, I finally catch a glimpse. Even if I seen just a black hair, through the crowd, I just know it has to be him.
I finally see the back of him walk up the stairs in his half button up black dress shirt and black pants. But my heart drops when I realize he's walking up with someone beside him holding her hand.
Song Aera.
I feel a tug at my heart and burning fury surging up inside me to see that woman again—and it happens to be with him.
The two makes it to the stage, hand and hand beside Jimin and Junsu.
Jungkook bows towards the loud crowd and so did Aera, looking so happy to be up there with him in her revealing red dress.
He looks quite different with his hair shorter, making him more handsome. He looks like he picked himself back up from the last time I've seen him.
His cold eyes scan the place and meets mine, making me froze in my seat. I can feel the iciness in his glare.
But soon a dark smile appears on his face then looks towards his father and Jimin.
I could tell Junsu is a little upset about all this. I think it has to do with Jungkook bringing Aera to the stage because it was suppose to be just the two sons. Jimin had wanted me up on that stage with him, but Junsu had kindly asked that it would just be his two sons up there.
But here is Jungkook not having any care about his father's wishes.
"Son, you finally came," Junsu speaks onto the camera, forcing a smile. I know deep down, he's internally angry at him for coming late. There's nothing more he hates than poor punctuality.
Jungkook gives a scornfully grin towards his father, looking like he could care less. Then grabs the mic from him. "Good evening everyone, excuse my punctuality. But I was just a little busy with my girlfriend, if you know what I mean."
Girlfriend?
Aera laughs flirtatiously beside him and faking like she's shy and embarrassed. But I already know she loves the attention.
She immediately looks down towards me, to confirm that I heard this whole thing. But I give her a fake smile.
Does she really think I'm hurt by this?
In reality I feel bad for her, she's an embarrassment to herself.
"Well, it's better late than never right?" Jungkook continues on talking to the crowd.
It seems to me that he for sure had a lot of drinks, prior to this.
"Anyways, please give a warm applause to my beautiful and loving girlfriend," he looks down at me, with great arrogance, "the love of my life, Song Aera."
