It was the day before The Yule Ball and the twins were still trying to help Harry and Ron find dates. Oliver was teaching them how to be charming and confident but it always backfired one of them, always messing something up and making the girls finding excuses to leave.
The boys started to slowly give up but [Y/N] kept on trying with them. The twins were with Harry in the common room as he was laying down on the couch with the golden egg on top of him.
"I mean, I did ask someone to the ball but they said they were already going with someone." Harry sighed.
"Who did you ask?" Oliver asked.
"Cho Chang, she told me someone already asked her." Harry admits, [Y/N] felt slightly guilty.
"Oh yeah she's going with Cedric, he told me yesterday apparently he asked someone to help him there were fireworks and everything." Harry gave Oliver a look before playing with the egg.
"Sorry."
At that moment, the common room door opened, Ginny walked in with a distress Ron many other girls behind him helping Ron walk inside. Hermione came walking down the girl dormotorie to go see what was going on and the twins quickly stood up next to Harry.
"What happened to you?" Harry questioned.
"He just asked Fleur Delacour out." Ginny responded, [Y/N] went wide eye.
"What?" Hermione asked.
"What did she say?"
"No of course." Hermione said, Ron shook his head, [Y/N] was waiting for him to continue, "She said yes?"
"Don't be silly. There she was walking by. You know how I like it when they walk-" Harry nodded for him to continue, "I couldn't help it, It just sort of slipped out."
"Actually, he sort of screamed at her. It was a bit frightening." Ginny mentioned.
"I mean she already had a date so she would've said no, and after what you did she might even stay away from you." [Y/N] said, making everyone turn to look at her, Oliver giving her a stern look, "What?"
"Nevermind, what did you do then?" Harry sighed.
"What else? I ran for it. I'm not cut out for this Harry, I don't know what got into me." Ron rambled. Harry then spotted the Patil twins coming down an idea came to mind he went after them and [Y/N] turned around to see him telling them something as they giggled and nodded before leaving Harry.
"You asked them, didn't you?" [Y/N] grins.
"Yeah, Padma agree to go with Ron and Parvati is going with me." Harry said.
"See? It's not hard to ask someone." Oliver chimed in.
"Whatever, I'm heading to bed.Goodnight." Harry hugged Oliver then [Y/N] before telling Ron to go with him upstairs.
"Well, I'm going to bed as well. Goodnight Oli."
"Goodnight (Y/N/N)." Oliver hugged his sister before he let go and she went upstairs as he left the common room.
It was now Christmas day, the day of the Yule Ball, [Y/N] woke up early and noticed how Angelina was the only one in the room as she was sitting on her bed writing something down. [Y/N] sat down on the bed yawning also stretching. Angelina turned around and gave her a small smile before she continued writing something. [Y/N] smiled and looked at the side of her bed and notice a small box with a red bow a note on top.
"Good morning (Y/N/N). Someone knocked on the door early I got up and opened it but no one was there just that box." Angelina said.
"Good morning and thanks." Angelina nodded. Y/N got up and went to her trunk to take some clothes before walking to the bathroom. She took a warm shower, brushed her teeth. Once she was done, [Y/N] changed into black sweatpants and a grey sweatshirt letting her hair dry, she walked out the bathroom and sat on her bed before grabbing the box and opening the note first.
Dear (Y/N)
Hey kid I never had the chance to give this to your mother before and I regret not doing so, Merry Christmas (Y/N/N)
[Y/N] furrowed her eyebrows confused on who was the gift from she turned the paper over and noticed no name was written there either she put the note down untying the ribbon before opening it, inside the box was a necklace with a name.
'SAMMY.'
[Y/N] smiled at it before passing her thumb over it and putting it on.
"What is it?" Angelina asked.
"Someone gave me a necklace. It has my mum name on it." [Y/N] smiles softly.
"Someone? No name? Huh that's cute though. That means whoever send you that must've really loved her." Angelina said.
"I suppose so." [Y/N] sighed, "Merry Christmas Angelina."
"Merry Christmas [Y/N]."
[Y/N] smiled as she stood up from her bed and went over to her trunk and took out Angelina's present before giving it her as she smiled and hugged her before handing her's. [Y/N] put the present on her bed before grabbing a bag were all the other presents were at. [Y/N] puts away Angelina present before leaving her room and heading downstairs were she already saw the twins, Lee, the golden trio, Mason, Liam and Oliver.
The common room seemed more crowded than usual only the fourth years and older student stayed this year as the ones from first and third year left home for Christmas since they couldn't attend the ball. [Y/N] went over to the group and she was about to sit on the floor before Liam wrapped his arms around her hips pulling her down to his lap.
"Good morning, love." Liam smiles.
"Good morning." She smiled before giving him a small kiss.
"I'm still not used to that." Mason grumbled as the boys snickered.
"Good morning, you lot." [Y/N] said as she turned to look at her friends.
"Good morning." They all chorused.
"Who gave you that?" Oliver asked as he pointed at the necklace.
"I don't know but it has mum's name on it." [Y/N] smiled as she took it off and gave it Oliver. [Y/N] grabbed her bag before passing everyone their gifts and her getting some back. It was Mason's first Christmas with them and [Y/N] couldn't wait for him to join in the annual snowball fight.
"I like it must've been one of mum's friends who send it. Maybe someone we don't know." Oliver suggested as he handed it back to her.
"I'll put on you." Liam offered as he grabbed it from Oliver and put it on [Y/N].
"Mason since it is your first Christmas with us. You'll be joining in the annual snowball fight, so who's team do you want to be in [Y/N]'s who has Oliver, Harry and Liam or mine who has George, Lee and Ron." Fred smiled.
"What about Hermione?" Mason asked.
"Oh, I don't join." Hermione mentioned.
"Oh okay, well I'll join [Y/N]'s team." Mason said, Fred groans throwing his head back and [Y/N] fist bump Mason.
"Guess my team is winning again, Weasley." [Y/N] smirked as she ate a Chocolate frog.
"No it's not we're going to win this year." Fred said giving her a playful glare.
"Sure you say that every year and every year you lose." Oliver reminds him.
"You'll see, we'll win," George smirked.
"Whatever you say, we have the best team." Harry said as he looked at his cousins.
The group got ready and walked to the courtyard after breakfast, [Y/N] had her arm wrapped around Mason shoulder as she told him the rules to the game the twins, the golden trio, Lee, Oliver and Liam following behind them. Mason seeming to understand, once they got to the courtyard they went to their side while Hermione was watching them from afar.
"Remember you will only win if you get with a snowball." George said making them all nod, "3..2..1...Go!"
They all started to make snowballs and started to throw it to one another and some started to hide so they wouldn't get hit by any. [Y/N] was hiding behind a tree and threw the snowball at Lee catching him off guard making him groan, she high fived Oliver as the game continued soon there were only two on each team. [Y/N] and Oliver for their team and Fred and George from their team.
"[Y/N] and Oliver Black are now against Fred and George Weasley! Who will win, which set of twins will survive! Will it be the Potter-Black's or The Weasley's." Lee commented.
"Does he always do this?" Mason mumbled to Harry.
"Yeah. Except two years ago it was [Y/N[ and me Vs Ron and George." Harry smiled at the memory.
[Y/N] was currently hiding behind a snowman that someone built- she saw George coming closer and she rapidly got up and threw the snowball at him before he got a chance to throw his. [Y/N] smiled at him as he rolled his eyes walking to where the rest of them were. [Y/N] was trying to look for Oliver, Fred saw Oliver hiding somewhere and as she was about to walk around, someone picked her up and threw her over their shoulders making her scream.
"Fred! Put.Me.Down!" [Y/N] yelled as she hit his back.
"No! I think I have a better idea." Before [Y/N] had the chance to ask- Fred started running towards the snowman, [Y/N] yelling for him stop as he ran towards the snowman making her fall on top of the snow and Fred on top of her.
Their friends laughing.
"I hate you." [Y/N] mumbled as she pushed him off sitting down and wiping the snow off her face.
"No you don't." Fred smiled as he knew she was distracted, he made a snowball and threw it on top of her hat making her gasp, "You're out!"
"I know but you still won't win, Oliver!" Fred smiled faded as he was hit with a snowball on the side of his face making [Y/N] get up and tackle Oliver in a hug, "WE WON!"
"The Potter-Black win again!" Lee yelled making Harry and Mason high five each other before running towards the twins and George, Ron and Fred groan.
"I told you." [Y/N] sang as Liam hugged her from behind placing his head on top of her's.
"Whatever." Fred smiled.
"I think it's time to get ready- Come on [Y/N]!" Hermione said as she went over and pulled [Y/N] away from Liam's grasp, making the boys groan.
"We have enough time Hermione!" Ron yelled but Hermione didn't turn around as her and [Y/N] were out of the boys view. The boys decided to stay out a little longer before they all decided it was time to get ready as well.

It was now time for the ball, [Y/N] helped Alicia, Katie and Angelina get ready for the ball before herself not that she minded. Once she was done with them, [Y/N] started to get ready, she already got out the shower and had the dorm all to herself. She was currently sitting down in front of the mirror wearing some shorts and big shirt as she applied light makeup. [Y/N] was about change into her dress when a sudden knock happened, she sighed before going to see who it was.
"Hello." [Y/N] smiled as she saw a young gryffindor girl standing in front of her with a small box.
"Hi, a present came for you, Merry Christmas."
[Y/N] took the box from the young girl. She closed the door and immediately opened the box as she saw a charm that had a moving picture of baby her and Oliver with Samantha and Sirius, she gave a sad smile as she took out the note inside.
Dear (Y/N)
Merry Christmas my girl It took time to find this picture, Have fun tonight I hope the charm bracelet goes great with your dress.
Love Dad
[Y/N] smiled and left the bracelet on her night stand and started to change into her dress, it was a long light blue dress with a sequence pattern, a slit open that started from above her knee.
[Y/N] smiled at herself as she looked at herself in the mirror, they way the dress hugged her body on all the right places. [Y/N] fixed her hair a bit as she kept it down, she walked back to her night stand and put on the charm and the necklace before putting on her heels and walked down.
[Y/N] noticed how the common room was empty, she walked out the common room before stopping in the corner that led to the hall- she took a deep breath before turning the corner as she stood at the top of the staircase. Many people looking to where she stood, staring at her in awe.
Harry was talking to Hermione as she was standing with Oliver and Liam who were having their own conversation but that stopped once Hermione looked to the grand staircase and gave an excited squeal, the boys looking to where she was to see [Y/N] walking down.
"She looks gorgeous!"
"[Y/N] never fails to look stunning!"
Mason was standing with his other friends and was confused when many were whispering amongst each other, he turned around and saw his cousin walking down. Mason had a bright smile as he told his date and friends to excuse him- he walked to where [Y/N] was getting on the last step, he held his hand out for her she smiled as she took it and he spun her around.
"You look absolutely beautiful (Y/N/N)." Mason smiled.
"Thank you, Mason and you look handsome." [Y/N] smiled as she fixed his tie.
"And I thought I was the most stunning person in this ball." Oliver said as he approached them.
"Not even close." Harry jokes as Oliver rolled his eyes playfully, "You look amazing [Y/N]."
"Oh [Y/N], I love your dress." Hermione smiled as she went to give her a quick hug.
"My wonderful girlfriend always makes a breathtaking entrance." Liam smiled.
"Well thank you, I do try. Thanks mione and Harry." [Y/N] said, holding Liam's hand, "Where's Fred, Georeg, Lee and Ron?"
"They're inside." Hermione smiled, "Come on Harry, go over to McGonagall you are opening the ball."
"Right- er- see you all inside." Harry said as he walked to Parvati who was talking to Lavender.
"I'll see you guys inside have to go back my date and Ernie." Mason gave them one last smile as he left.
"Well let's get inside then." Oliver said as he held Hermione's hand and [Y/N] linked hands with Liam.
"They should be here." Lee told the twins as they were waiting inside the hall. Angelina, Katie and Alicia were sitting on table just talking.
"Hey Angelina! Was [Y/N] almost ready when you three left?" George asked.
"She- Wow." Angelina gaze was now focused on [Y/N] who was entering the ball with Liam. Oliver and Hermione following behind them.
"What? Bloody hell." George muttered as he looked to see [Y/N] coming in, "I really hope these thoughts go away after the ball."
Lee was at lost of words and just had a proud smile.
"She looks stunning." Fred mumbled as [Y/N] approached them, he was looking at [Y/N] with loving eyes.
"I hope I didn't keep you waiting long." [Y/N] spoke once being in front of the group. The twins and Lee just shook their heads and smiled.
At that moment they all stood up and pulled [Y/N] aside to complement her and tell her things, they talked for awhile before they went back to their dates as the Great Hall doors opened.
Fleur and Roger were the first to walk in, Fleur looked around the hall and saw [Y/N]- she smiled at her as she passed behind them were Viktor and Eliza. Eliza caught [Y/N] eye as she smiled and winked, Oliver didn't clap, he just glared at Viktor the whole time.
Cedric came in with Cho as they were both smiling happily and finally Harry with Parvati. They made it to the dance floor and started dancing. [Y/N] saw how Harry was having a difficult time then the rest of the Champions. After some time, Professors started to go on the dance floor and more and more students started to join in.
"Care to dance?" Liam smiled as he held his arm out.
"Absolutely." [Y/N] took a hold of his hand as he guided her to the dance floor.
He wrapped his arm around her waist and held her left hand with as she put his hand on his shoulder, they were smiling at one another the whole time.
The dance floor was now full of all students dancing and having fun, Fred and Angelina, Lee and Alicia, Katie and George, Oliver and Hermione. The thing was Fred was not very focus when dancing with Angelina and neither was she, he was gazing at [Y/N] while Angelina was gazing at George but the the two seemed to still be focused on how they were moving.
[Y/N] and Liam stopped dancing as the rest of their friends, they ended up sitting on one of the circular table eating and talking.
"Hey Liam, I was wondering if I can steal [Y/N] for one dance?" Cedric asked as he came up to their table.
"Sure." Liam smiled.
[Y/N] smiled and got up as she followed Cedric to the dance floor. They were now dancing as they made jokes and as he spun her around every once in a while.
"You know, I never did get the chance to give your Christmas gift." Cedric said.
"You got me something?" [Y/N] asked as she was dipped down.
"Yeah." He brought her back up and smiled, "I have it here with me."
He kept one arm around her waist as the other romed his pocket and took out a picture, "It's not big, but I remember when we took this picture, it was after our first year. I never had the chance to give it you and now I dom Merry Christmas!"
[Y/N] grabbed the picture as one arm wrapped around his neck, "We look so adorable."
Cedric laughed and smiled as the song finished- he let her go.
[Y/N] hugged Cedric as he walked her back to the table. [Y/N] didn't spend much time sitting down because she got asked to dance, a lot. She danced with Draco, Mason, Harry, Ron and even Oliver.
Fred was looking for the perfect time to ask her but didn't even know how. Angelina saw how Fred looked at [Y/N] and she even couldn't help but smile she even told him to just go for it. [Y/N] was having another dance with Liam and they finished, [Y/N] went to get a drink and Liam left to talk to Snape.
"(Y/N)!" Fred smiled.
"Fred."
"I was wondering if you want to dance?"
[Y/N] grabbed his hand and pulled him to the dance floor as they started swaying to the music. Fred kept looking at her with a wide smile as she did with him.
"You look really beautiful tonight, love. I mean you look gorgeous everyday but now you got me at a loss for words, I can't explain it." Fred confessed, [Y/N] looked down at their feets smiling before looking back up at him with a blush cheeks.
"Thank you, Freddie, you look great tonight as well." Fred chuckled as he spun her around.
"[Y/N], can I tell you something? But you have to promise that when I tell you, it won't change anything." Fred said.
"What is it Fred?"
"I-" Fred was cut off by Eliza and Mason who came running towards them. Mason looked furious and Eliza looked upset and sad.
"(Y/N)!" Eliza said, "I'm really sorry Fred, but this is important. I mean really important-"
"Eliza not here- [Y/N] come on and you, look for Oliver." Mason took ahold of [Y/N] wrist and pointed at Fred before walking out the hall.
"What is it you too?" [Y/N] asked as the three of them were outside.
"We need to wait for Oliver-" Mason cut off Eliza.
"I don't think we do, It's [Y/N]'s business not Oliver's and once he finds he's gonna lose it." Mason said as he clenched his jaw
"Okay? What's going on?" Oliver asked as he made it out. The twins, Lee, Harry, Ron and Hermione still inside.
"I don't know, what is it you two need to tell me?" [Y/N] raised her eyebrow.
"[Y/N]." Eliza now had tears in her eyes, "I'm so sorry-"
"[Y/N], what we need to tell you is, well before we do. Oliver you have to promise not to do anything rash." Oliver gave Mason a weird look before nodding.
"Well I was walking Emily back to the common room and I was walking back to the hall to see you lot and well I bumped into Eliza. We were talking and well something caught my eye, I thought my eyes were playing jokes on me but I- I looked at them and I-" Mason sighed.
"We looked at them and well, they walked into some classroom. It looked like they were talking at first. Well mostly arguing but then she kissed and well we thought he was going to push her off but he didn't and- and they closed the door they didn't notice we were there," Eliza sniffled as she looked at [Y/N] her hair changing from red to dark blue.
"Okay? What does this have to do with us, because I think catching someone snog isn't really our business." Oliver chuckled but Mason and Eliza just looked at [Y/N] with sad eyes and Oliver soon realized who they were talking about his face turning dark.
[Y/N] bit her bottom lip as she realized who they were talking about, she didn't even needed to think too much of who the girl was. [Y/N] already knew her pretty well, her vision started to get blurry as tears started to cloud but she just sniffled and wiped her eyes looking at her cousin, brother and friend. [Y/N] was playing with Liam Slytherin ring as she slowly took it off and gave it to Mason who was frowning, she took off the necklaces and gave it to Mason as well, her only wearing the one that had her mum's name on it.
"Umm, I think umm- It's best we let them finish, don't you think?" [Y/N] laughed bitterly as the tears appeared, "Let them have their fun."
"[Y/N]." Eliza mumbled as she went to give her a hug. [Y/N] hugged her back tightly as she let the tears fall, Eliza rubbing her back. Oliver was about to go look for Liam but Mason grabbed his arm.
"I want to do something too, but right now isn't the time. We should take her back to the common room. We should be with her." Mason whispered.
Oliver opened his mouth to protest but quickly closed it before nodding. [Y/N] let go off Eliza and sniffled before taking the things back from Mason.
"Oli come to the common room with me." [Y/N] mumbled.
"Of course come on- Mason can you go tell Hermione and the others that we had to go because I wasn't feeling well." Oliver tells him, Mason nodded giving [Y/N] a hug before going inside.
"Eliza come with."
Eliza nodded before [Y/N] turned around, she looked straight ahead and saw Liam fixing his hair Melissa following behind him giggling she kissed his cheek thinking no one was watching.
"I'm going to be sick. Let's go." [Y/N] turned around making her way upstairs, Oliver turned around and saw before clenching his jaw and quickly following his sister, Eliza hurrying behind them.
Liam looked ahead and saw [Y/N] and Oliver walking upstairs with Eliza, him not noticing that they saw everything.
"[Y/N]!"
[Y/N] walked faster and turned the corner.
"You two go on, I'll tell him some lie or something." The twins nodded at Eliza before making their way to the Gryffindor common room.
