Matt's POV
I was looking forward to tonight. Adrienne and I hadn't seen much of eachother because she was working alot, but this week she'd worked overtime and I hadn't seen her at all. All I wanted to do was lay on the couch, watch movies and spend every second with her.
Well when Brian knocked on my door it became obvious to me that that idea was ruined and as everyone else arrived I got a little pissed.
"Everyone needs to leave." I said to Amelia, pulling her aside. "Adrienne is coming over."
"Okay, it's okay Matt, I'll just suggest we go to Zacks."
"Please do."
I don't know when she was going to suggest it because everybody got comfortable, in the pool, around the pool, drinking.
"Hi." Amber said, walking in.
And what the fuck was she even doing here? Who invited her?
I attempted to ignore her but she was continually in my face.
"Can you put this on my back?" She asked me.
At this point I was willing to do anything in the hope that she might fuck off and leave me alone.
I grabbed it off her and rubbed it in her back.
"Adrienne." I heard Amelia say.
I looked up and there she was, walking towards me.
She looked beautiful to me, I'd missed her, but she looked so tired.
She leant down and whispered in my ear. "Bye."
She shoved something in my hand and turned around, walking back the way she came.
"Wait." I called, following her.
My heart was beating fast. Where was she going?
I glanced down at my hand. She'd given me the key. Fuck.
"Adrienne." I called. "What are you doing?"
She turned to me and she looked pissed.
"I'm done. You said we'd get tonight alone, I can see you invited everyone over so go back out there."
"Don't be stupid." I didn't invite anyone over.
"You know what Matt go back to Amber. She can have you."
"Adrienne." I didn't want Amber.
She ignored me and walked to her car.
"You know what." I called after her. "I prefer Amber. She's more fun than you obviously."
What the fuck was I saying?
Fuck.
She got in her car and left and I stood there like the idiot I was.
"Matt?"
I turned around, Amelia was standing there.
"I heard Matt. Just give her ten minutes to get home then call her."
"I'm such a fucking dickhead." I told her.
She nodded. "Yeah, you are."
Why would I say that? I didn't mean it. The only girl I ever thought about was Adrienne, the only girl I wanted was Adrienne.
"I'll start getting rid of everybody."
Thank god.
I grabbed my phone and went into the living room, shutting the door.
I waited a few minutes then dialled her number. It rang and went to voice message. That didn't surprise me. If she didn't answer I'd just go over there.
I called again and this time it was answered.
"Hello."
A strangers voice and noise, alot of noise.
"Adrienne?" I asked.
"Who man, I can't hear you. Do you know her?"
Jesus was that someone screaming?
"Where's Adrienne?"
"Adrienne?"
That scream.
"Yeah Adrienne."
"Her names Adrienne." He yelled. "Mate, there's been an accident."
An accident, oh yes there'd been an accident because I could hear that screaming and I knew that voice.
"Where is she?" I yelled.
"The emergency services are here, once they get her out they'll take her to hospital."
The line went dead.
Once they get her out? Hospital?
Jesus Christ I was going to vomit.
"Matt?" Amelia was in the door. "Matt, are you okay?"
I shook my head. I was not okay.
"I have to go." I said walking to the door. "Accident. Adrienne."
I felt someone grab me, and I heard someone yelling.
I just needed to get to the hospital.
