I spoke with the guard overseeing the murder today. We're not officially on the case, but he eagerly welcomed our help. The body had already been taken away, but the scene was quite gruesome. There was blood everywhere.
The guard told me of three witnesses, and we split up to question them. We've learned that a man was possibly sighted fleeing the scene, and that the victim's coin purse wasn't taken. Either the murderer was interrupted and fled before grabbing it, or it wasn't a mugging at all. Considering each of the three victims of these past murders have been young women of similar build, each killed in the same way, I'm leaning toward a serial murderer.
