C O N N O R

I guess I wasn't really the best at hiding my reddening cheeks during English. It was due to that, that the boys wouldn't stop asking me about Troye and about this weekend. They didn't know anything and I surely wasn't about to tell them, but I was sure they somehow knew I liked the boy- which, to be honest, I couldn't really blame them for. I'd hung out with Troye a lot since I'd gotten to know him. And even though we didn't cuddle at school or anything like that, we might've sat a little bit closer than usual in the past few weeks.

During class, my mind kept drifting away from the lesson, and I was thankful for Ricky sitting next to me, because otherwise I would've gotten scolded a thousand times already for not paying attention. I wasn't the only one having a hard time though, Troye apparently did too. But he didn't have someone sitting next to him to alert him, and when mr. Sinclair asked him a question and he didn't notice, I wished I was sitting next to him to give him a small nudge. But I wasn't, and the boy was so lost in though he didn't notice the teacher snapping his fingers in front of him. It was quit a funny sight to see him look up, bewildered.

"Oh. I'm sorry sir, it won't happen again. I was just lost in thought over something that happened in the weekend..." He responded, after which he was left alone and mr Sinclair carried on his lesson. I grinned at the boy, who was smiling shyly at me.

-

The last two hours were music, and Troye and I were sitting in the back of the class, silently chatting about his music career; about his silly dreams to be as good as Michael Jackson one day and how when he was young he was always singing. We were interrupted by a tap on my shoulder though, and I looked up in annoyance to find the face of a girl I'd been chatting with after Troyes performance of The Fault in Our Stars a couple weeks ago.

"What do you want, Layla?" I asked her, maybe a little too harsh. Her eyes thinned out a bit and she glared at me, before turning her face to Troye and sweetly smiling at him. I rolled my eyes, but couldn't help but be annoyed. As usual, mrs Sangster had told us to just work on our end of the year performance, which was a bit problematic for me as well as Troye. For one, I couldn't sing for shit, I only knew how to write, and Troye had no idea what he wanted to do for the performance. Layla proceeded to take out a chair and sit between me and Troye, so that we now were sitting a small triangle.

My eyes flickered towards the boy sitting half opposite, half next to me. He was looking at the girl with confusion written all over his face.

"Oh, I just wanted to ask Troye something." I didn't like how she didn't even look at me, her eyes focused on Troye only. It definitely didn't go past me that she was trying to flirt with him. Her voice was sickeningly sweet, and I rolled my eyes when she batted her eyes at Troye. Troye, on the other hand, let out a nervous laugh and smiled at me.

"Well, what do you wanna ask? Because I was telling here Connor a very amusing story." He was nice to her, just as he always was. It was one of the many things I admired of him. Because now, even when he was smiling at her, I could sense a tad of annoyance in his voice. He obviously didn't want to be rude. Layla turned to look at me when Troye mentioned me, but her smile wasn't all too genuine.

"Oh. Well, I wanted to ask you," she twirled a lock of her hair around her finger, trying to lock eyes with him, "what you're gonna do for the performance? I mean, we could team up if you want?"

"No. Bye Layla." He waved her off and looked at her until she went to sit with her friend again, malice in her eyes. She clearly wasn't all too happy with Troyes answer. I chuckled, it was quite funny sight, after all.

A week and a half later, I was stressing out. Since the Sunday Troye and I kissed we had spend nearly all time we could together, and I still couldn't really wrap my mind about the fact that this beautiful, angelic and precious boy wanted to be with me. Which was the reason I was fiddling with my pencil while in chemistry. We only had thirteen minutes left until the bell rung and we'd be free to go, and since I was planning on taking Troye on our first official date, I thought I had quite a valid reason to be nervous.

Another reason for me stressing out, was the fact that the guys had started to become suspicious. I hadn't hung out with them at all for the past two weeks, and I was sure they could sense the tension between me and Troye. It was hard, really, to keep my hands to myself and not kiss him, to not hug him, cuddle with him and just be close to him, in general. But on the other side I really, really wasn't ready to come out. Mainly because my family didn't yet know, and if I came out at school, they sure would, given that La Crescent was a small town where rumours spread fast. But Troye and I did sit a little closer than before, our touches lasted just a bit longer than would be considered 'normal', and maybe I looked at him more. Simply looking, staring, admiring from afar. Simply appreciating him and his beauty. In my mind already running my hands through his hair, brushing my lips against his, tracing his jawline and just being close to him. And none of this escaped the guys' notice. They constantly glanced at me and Troye, but so far they hadn't actually asked anything, which I was grateful for.

The bell finally rung and I grinned at the Australian boy sitting next to me. He knew I had something planned, but not what. He'd been giving me small nudges as to ask what I had planned for us all day long. He smiled back, and soon was had left the school and I was holding his hand in mine while we were walking to my car. When I'd told Brandon he'd have to find another way to get home after school this morning, he'd been annoyed and started asking me why. And by asking me, I didn't mean asking me one time. No, even now, when Troye and I got in the car, I received a text from him asking me if I could please give him a ride home. He said that this girl I was going on a date with or something like that would have to wait. I just rolled my eyes.

"Connah," Troye whined when we were seated. "Come on, pretty boy, where are we going?" He was tapping his fingers on the dashboard, looking at me with a sideways glance and pouty lips. I just smiled at him and tapped his nose once.

"You'll see," I answered him then with a mischievous grin on my lips and probably a glint in my eyes. Focusing on driving, I heard a small thud coming from besides me, and when I glanced his way I saw he had dropped his head in his hands. It was clear he was trying to be dramatic, but in combination with a smile on his lips, I couldn't help but laugh.

The drive to the small cafe I came when I wanted some time by myself wasn't long, but it was well spent. I mean, I didn't really do anything but drive there and smile, but hearing Troye softly singing along to the radio was enough to make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The cafe was cute as always, and Leah, who I'd asked to help me out with this, was waiting outside already. When we walked towards the entrance of the cafe, she greeted me with a smile and a quick hug, before looking at Troye. A look of confusion washed over her face, but when I grabbed Troye's hand with mine and pulled him a bit closer, she seemed to snap out if it.

"Oh. I thought you were bringing a girl, but this makes sense. Cute." I blushed, and could hear Troye softly giggling. I looked down at my feet, feeling my cheeks go red. Troye's finger was rubbing circles on the back of my hand, and it was soothing and actually making me feel better. Leah didn't know I was gay, but I also hadn't particularly told her I would be bringing a girl. I'd just asked her if she could help me out with this date I was planning to take someone on. And she'd happily agreed.

We followed her inside then, Troye looking around in awe. The place was pretty amazing, I must admit. It wasn't the biggest cafe in town, but that made it more appealing to me. Whereas other liked to go to Starbucks, I preferred this small and cozy coffee place. They had fairy lights hanging around the ceiling, cushions and blankets everywhere, and of course, the best coffee I'd ever tasted.

"Through here guys, I'll come and take your order in a couple minutes, okay?" We were lead through a door into a small separate room decorated for an amazing date. There were cushions and blankets on the floor, and a little coffee table in the middle of the room. The window was closed, luckily, and there were fairy lights pretty much everywhere. I took in a breath, admiring it, and heard Troye do the same next to me.

"Wow... Connor, this," he turned to look at me, his hand still in mine, "is beautiful. Did you arrange all of this?" He was basically gushing and I swear, if humans could puke rainbows, he would. His eyes were shining bright and his quiff seemed curlier then before, the light being reflected by each curl. He was simply beautiful.

"Yeah, I had some help from Leah, the waitress you just saw," I answered him, rubbing the back of my neck with my free hand. We then decided to sit down, and I wrapped my hands around Troye's slim body. He was tightly pressed against me, sitting on my lap and the card in his hands. We were examining the menu, even though I would go for my regular coffee anyway, and I had ordered a plate of all kinds of baked goods in advance to surprise the blue eyes angelic boy. But his eyes were wide as he took in all the drinks, and I lovingly pressed a kiss into his neck, which made him giggle and snuggle a bit closer, leaning back in my embrace. Our jackets were on the ground elsewhere in the room, and he was only wearing a tee. One too big for him, though, as usual. The blue colour of his tee stood out as a beacon next to the warm colours in the room. It made him stand out even more than usual, and it drew my eyes towards him even more.

A small knock on the door made both of us look up, and Leah came in with a little notebook and a pen. She squealed when she saw the position we were in, and almost dropped the notebook. I could almost swear I heard her mutter something along the lines 'so cute' under her breath, to which I chuckled.

"So, what do you want to drink? The usual for you, Connor?" She asked me, pen ready to write it down. I nodded and then looked at the boy in my arms again, sighing.

"And you, sweetheart? I don't think I've caught your name? Con here didn't mention it and well, with you two dating and all, it would be nice to know." She asked, and I felt my cheeks going red at her mentioning us dating. It wasn't something we explicitly had talked about, but I guess dating was the right term to use. Troye was clearly thrown off a bit by this question, and even in the dim light I saw his cheeks reddening. My hands were around him, and I mindlessly traced little circles on his stomach.

"Oh, could I get the hot chocolate, please? A-and my name's Troye. Troye Sivan." He introduced himself, stammering a bit.

"I'll remember that one, your order'll be up soon!"

-

An hour and a half later we were still in the cafe, Troye's lips pressed against mine, his legs wrapped around my waist and mine around his. Our arms and hands all over each other, mostly on our backs or in our hair. I was tugging at his curls now, probably ruining his quiff. But he was the only thing on my mind. His lips, his touch, his smell, him. He was so amazing, and I wanted this moment to last forever. It was great to kiss him here, to be entangled with his body without worrying that mine or his parents or siblings would walk in. Here in this little extra room of the cafe we had decorated specially for today. Here, where I didn't have to worry about anyone who didn't already know or anyone I wasn't ready to know to find out. His lips tasted of chocolate, but still had a faint minty taste. His hands roamed my body freely, carelessly. And I loved him so, so much. I ached for him, and now that we had a moment all for ourselves after not really having kissed the last couple days because we were simply busy with school, sports and Troye with his music, this was even better.

"Oh. Shit. Sorry! I-I'll just leave!" We broke apart in haste. My hands letting go of him as if he was burning me. I looked up at the door with big, wide eyes. Just when I thought nobody would walk in on us, Leah had. The girl stood in the doorway, but as soon as we had broken apart she threw the door shut and left again. I was breathing hard, and I could see Troye was too. Making out was an exercise on it's own, and even though Leah had just interrupted a moment that felt so pure to me, I couldn't really be mad at her. All I could do now was wrap Troye in my arms again, and leave a trail of soft kisses along his collarbone. Each one light as a feather, but Troye seemed to enjoy the moment. He leant back with his head and leaned more in my arms, distancing the room between us a bit. I didn't mind, it gave me better access to continue planting kisses on his collarbone and neck.
