AU: Soulmate - the first thing your soulmate says to you is written on your wrist

You're shorter than me
Those were the words that were imprinted in your skin from birth. The words that your soulmate would soon say to you. In your life, you have always been short, but you chose to embrace your 5' feet in height instead of dwelling on it (being short that is).
Many people have called you short, but no one said those exact words to you. Every time someone did call you short, you would just talk back to them. You knew that you were short, so you didn't need reminding that every time you met someone new.
You were a second-year transfer from Nekoma, and it would be your first year at Karasuno. You were walking through the semi crowded hallway, clucking your books tightly to your chest, and you bumped into someone turning a corner.
"Shimizu-chan?" You asked the person.
"(Y/N)-chan? I've been looking for you, are you lost?" she asked me.
Kiyoko and you were distantly related to each other, and your mother wanted her to show you around Karasuno.
You didn't know where the office was and you were supposed to meet Kiyoko at your classroom, but you couldn't find that either.
Making small conversation with Kiyoko, you looked over to the side and saw two people staring from afar.
One was short, and had spiky brown hair with a blond tuft of hair in the front. The other one was medium height, had a shaved head, and both of them had widened eyes, staring at you and Kiyoko.
"Kiyoko-san, do you know those two people who are staring at us?" You asked, slightly pointing over at the two.
She glanced over at them, and rolled her eyes, "Come on, school is going to start soon."
She quickly told you where most of your classes were, and left to where the third classrooms were.
You didn't really pay much attention in class because the first few days of school are always introductions, the teachers trying to memorize the names of the new students, and what they were going to teach throughout the year.
When the teacher told the class to talk amongst themselves, all of what you heard were about soulmates, which didn't surprise you.
"Did you hear that (R/N) just found their soulmate?"
"That's so late."
"My sister told me that if you haven't already found your soulmate, chances are that you're not going to meet them."
Hearing that conversation, you wondered: 1) if they ever met their soulmate, and 2) how high their IQ was.
Many people say that you meet your soulmate in your high school years. That wasn't a total lie though. Most of your friends from Nekoma had already met their soulmate.
They described meeting their soulmate as 'the best thing that has ever happened to them'. You wondered if that was actually true because that's how most people see it.
You glanced down at the words neatly written on your wrist, and read them over again.
When you were really young, and knew how to read, you committed those words to memory. You were afraid that if you ever forgot the words, you would miss the chance of meeting your soulmate.
You glanced back up to the teacher, who was still talking about how this year would be the most amazing and educational year of your high school life, which you highly doubted
Finally, after what felt like forever, the lunch bell rang. You picked up your stuff quickly, and walked out of the classroom.
You sat under a tree and took out your bento. You looked over the landscape of the field of the school yard. There were many students walking around, and it didn't surprise you to see that many of them were couples.
Other people were either sitting by themselves or with some friends, eating. You noticed that the people who were sitting alone, were looking down at their wrist, and running their figures over the ink.
Just thinking about this, made you feel kind of sad.
Moving your (H/C) hair back, you closed your eyes, and put your headphones back on.
Half-way through your favourite song, you felt a tap on your shoulder, interrupting the song. You looked up to see Kiyoko giving you a plan stare.
You took off your headphones.
"How long have you been there?" you asked her.
"About five seconds, maybe a little less," she said.
"Okay, so what's up?"
"Do you want to come to volleyball practice with me? Your parents and my parents want to have dinner together, and we should walk home because I don't know where you live," Kiyoko said in a soft tone.
You gave her a weird look, "You play volleyball?"
She looked down and shook her head. "I manage the boy's volleyball team."
"Oh, okay."
Kiyoko was just about to turn to leave, but you stopped her. "Kiyoko-san, have you met your soulmate?"
She sighed and sat next to you. "No, have you?"
"Nope."
"Well, what does yours say?" she asked you, with an emotionless expression.
You rolled up your sleeve slightly, just enough to see the inked words.
"At least you know that your soulmate is taller than you," she said.
You gave her a look, "Kiyoko-san, everyone is taller than me. I'm surprised that I haven't met them yet."
"Don't dwell on it. You'll meet them," she said, and stood up. "Come on, I'll show you where the gyms are and where your next class is."
You nodded, and followed her.

After school was finished, you carefully made your way to the gym. You normally walked with your head down and headphones on, so you didn't notice the two people walking straight towards you.
You fell on your butt, and hit the floor with a groan.
"Oooo, she's pretty Noya-kun," one person said.
The other person didn't answer.
You looked up at the both of them, and you recognized them. They were the people who were looking at you and Kiyoko.
The one with the blond tuft of hair just looked at you funny.
"You're shorter than me," was all he said.
"Well, I'm sitting down, of course I'm shorter than you!" You fired back, not even realizing what he said.
"Wait, what did you say!?" You both said at the same time.
"I'm going to give you two love birds some space. I'll meet you at practice, Noya-san," the shaved headed person said.
Just before he walked away, he turned to Nishinoya and whispered, "Get some."
Nishinoya's face turned a bright shade of red, and put his hand on his neck and looked down. The baldish guy awkwardly pointed in the direction he was heading before shuffling off.
'Noya-kun' offered you a hand up, and you gladly took it. He then rolled up his sleeve and showed you his wrist.

He carefully took your arm and rolled up your sleeve, revealing the inked words that you have looked at so many times.
"Nishinoya Yū," he said with a bright smile.
"(L/N) (F/N)," you told him.
"Well, (Y/N)-chan, I can't wait for the rest of my life to begin with you."

Extra scene
"Everyone this is my soulmate," Nishinoya said, walking up to random groups of people. "Yeah, I met my soulmate."
Then he dragged you into the gym, where you were supposed to meet Kiyoko.
"Hey!" Nishinoya shouted, causing everyone to look at you and Nishinoya. "This is my soulmate! I met my soulmate! Can you believe it!?!?!?!"
"Noya-kun, everyone knows that I'm your soulmate," you laughed.
He just smiled brightly back at you. "Everyone needs to meet my amazing soulmate though."
