50. Bhai Dooj

Aditya's pov:

Today is Bhai Dooj my little devil's day it is. Finding a gift for her every year is a hectic duty. Every year i gift her something and she is like no bhai i don't want this and with that she takes whatever she wants.

It was 9a.m. when I came downstairs. I smelt the mesmerising aroma of food coming from the kitchen.

"Mom" i called her
"Yeaah.. what happened"
"Who is cooking today?"
"Pari"
"I guess no lunch will have to order now"
"Bhaai thats very unfair thing to say" pari said
"It's never unfair little devil"
"Bhai once more you call me that i will become the real devil"
"No need to become devil you are a devil"
"Mummmmaaa see bhaai"
"Adiiii... She is your little sister" mom said
"And a devil too"
"Adi.. stop"
"By the way the smell is awesome"
"Yes the house is filled with the smell" dad said
"I want to eat the lunch now.. its smelling so tasty" dadi said
"You are standing here then who is in the kitchen then. I don't want to eat burnt food"
"Bhabhi is there.. she is helping me"
"Now I do get that is the reason of all the beautiful aroma"
"Bhai thats not fair haan"
"Dadi we are saved now"
"Mom you know bhai now only knows the taste of bhabhi's food now" pari said
"No but i surely know yours which will taste like charcoal"
"Maaa..." Pari whined like a 5year old kid
"Adi you stop.. she is doing all this for you and you are his big brother if she makes some burnt food so what"

Everyone broke into laughter and Pari stomped her foot on the ground and shouted "bhabhhhiiii... Save me" saying she went inside the kitchen..

It was time for the bhai dooj rasams.. Namrata and I sat down and Pari started putting tilak and chanting some things which mom guided her. She fed us sweet.

"Its gift time.. Come bro loosen your pockets now" pari said
I took a 20rs. Kitkat and handed her.
"This is your gift little devil"

She kept her mouth open in shock and I stood up to go
"I am not in a kid bhai.. I need gift"
"This is your gift only"
"I with i could have changed you and bring a sweet brother like bhabhi.." Turning toward Namrata she said "you got a big devil bhabhi for lifetime i forgot to tell you bhabhi" saying she hid behind Namrata
"You little devil come here"
"Ohhooo.. Adi give the gift no.. we are dying in hunger now" Dadi said
"Ok dadi just because of you" turning towards Pari i asked her what she wants this year.

She said she wants iphone 11. I immediately placed a order on her name and she jumped in the whole house like a kangaroo..

"Bhabhi now your turn" pari said to Namrata
She took out a box and handed to Pari Airpods
"Oh my god bhabhi... I love you... I wanted this to buy for such a long period of time.. thank you thank you thank you so.. sooo.. sooooo much" jumping on she hugged Namrata tightly.

She came and hugged me and said "i have got the best bhai and bhabhi in the world. You are a big devil but sometimes sweet too. And bhabhi i loved your gift too its gonna match with my new phone."

"I see after the gift i am sweet too haan"
"You are always a devil but because of bhabhi you are sweet now.."
"Ok then I have to cancel the gift"
"No no no no.. you are too sweet as bhabhi.. don't do this"
"Better"

"Okay.. you both now lets eat now" Dad said
"Nammu what are the dishes" Dadi asked
"Its mutton biryani, garlic naan, butter chicken, raita and salad and for dessert its gajar ka halwa"
"The food is amazing" dadi said
"See bhaai i can cook good"
"Yes she has now been learning"
"Mom she has done all of this on her own"
"No bhabhi you were there otherwise i couldn't have"
"Pari I was just standing there. You did each and every thing"
"Little devil actually its good"

Namrata's pov-

After the lunch Adi left for the office he had a client meeting but it was decided he would join in the evening as today Papa had called us and told us to go for dinner.
