"Lily I wrote the best poem for you!" James shouted, running down the corridor to catch up to her and Marlene. He held a wrinkled piece of parchment and handed it to her. "You'll never guess what it's called. I'll give you a hint...it's a flower."

Lily rolled her eyes, "Hmmm, Lily?"

James's face fell and he ran a hand through his hair. "Shit that's better..." he muttered. He snatched the poem out of her hand and ran away.

Marlene snickered as they watched him. "What'd it say?"

"Rose."

Now Marlene rolled her eyes. "That boy...he's trouble."

James came back by the time they made it to the Gryffindor common room with the poem in hand. He handed it to Lily. On the front was LILY scratched over ROSE. "Lily my love, you're purer than a dove, I know you don't have so much hate, but would it be too much for a date?"

"I like the rhymes," Marlene said reading over Lily's shoulder.

"And the answer is no, but I do appreciate the compliments."
