How the SC got hold of these file was questionable, they must have had someone inside the British system. All of these files were scanned official documents, from the RUC, PSNI & MI5.
There were 442,713 files within the 1998 folder. The majority of which related to the Omagh bombing. Amy will finally see what intel Irish & British security had prior to the event. It was common knowledge, that the R-IRA staunchly rejected the Good Friday agreement.
The SC had warned the Irish security that a threat was imminent. The Dublin TD received the notice and subsequently passed it over to MI5. On 9th July 1998, MI5 were aware of the SC intel.
Further analysis proved that the correspondence and documents she was viewing, were from photocopied evidence made by the SC mole inside Dáil Éireann. It was slippery deception on their part, however it was usable in Lucas's interviews as the IRA mole was an Irish politician.
She had to report the finding back to Lucas.
