You stretched your arm out, accidentally bumping into something that responded with a groan. You giggled and your eyes fluttered open, to see Niall’s staring back at you. You couldn’t complain, it was a nice thing to wake up to.

“Good morning, princess,” He whispered, making a weird face and sticking his tongue out.

You shook your head and continued to giggle while he wrapped his arms around you and pulled you closer into him. Your head nestled into his neck and he pulled the covers over the two of you. You knew you should be awake by now but it felt nice to cuddle up and stay warm. It felt nice to finally feel loved by someone.

You almost felt lucky. Of all of the girls that could have been walking down the sidewalk that night, you happened to be there. And of all the boys that could have picked you up and offered to take you home, it happened to be Niall. You realized that you never even made it home that night. But you were much better off here, with him, cuddled up in his bed on a cold morning.

Just thinking about Niall put a smile on your face. He was a mixture of things. He was sweet and caring, but he was also the biggest goof you’d ever come across. He was the kind of person that you could have hours of fun with, as you already had. But he also had a soft side, and he really cared about you. You could picture him being super overprotective, as you already had a taste of with Harry the other night.

“You thinking about something?” He interrupted your thoughts, followed by a peck on your nose.

You shrugged and yawned, thinking it was about time to get up and move, though you didn’t want to. Niall made you feel so comfortable, and you felt so at peace in his arms, but you knew that the day still had to go on, and you couldn’t lie there forever.

You pried yourself out of his grip, leaving him there, to be empty with a frown on his face. He whined and rolled around, complaining about having to get up. You just folded your arms together and chuckled, leaving him to have his tantrum by himself. You made your way down the stairs, remembering the first time. You ran your hands along the railing, smiling to yourself as you remembered the first morning you had with Niall. With a small chuckle, you hopped off of the last step, and walked toward a bathroom.

Flicking a light on, you stared at your reflection in the mirror. It was still early, so you couldn’t blame yourself for your messy hair and sticky skin. You reached forward and turned the faucet on, splashing some cold water onto your face to help wake you up. Grabbing a towel that hung beside you, you wiped the droplets of water from your face. You stared deep at your reflection again, seeing things in yourself that you never saw before. It seemed almost natural for you to smile now, something you felt so uncomfortable doing before you met Niall. You noticed a tiny glow to your skin that wasn’t there before, and your eyes sparkled with every blink. You were a happier person, you decided. Even your voice danced with every word and your whole appearance spelt the words, ‘I’m in love and that person also loves me.’

“Hey, beautiful,” Niall’s head suddenly popped into the mirror with you. “Staring at yourself? That’s a bit vain, isn’t it?!” He joked.

You playfully slapped his arm, pushing him slightly out of view. “I was just thinking,” You said as you slid past him, turning the light off after you.
