“Maybe you’ll make a goal next time!” You joked as you patted Niall’s back on the walk back to his car.

He clutched his duffel bag over his shoulder, and he flinched at your words. “Ouch,” He muttered, hurrying his step.

You chuckled, hoping he’d soften up a bit. You hurried to catch up to him as you approached his car. He set his bag in the trunk of his car, before making his way around to the driver’s side. You opened your door, something he usually did for you, and slid in.

The ride back to your shared house was uncomfortably silent. You slouched down in your seat, wanting to say something, but not knowing what to say. Instead, you resorted to watching out your window while your surroundings zipped past you as Niall drove.

He slammed his door shut after him, completely ignoring your presence as he retrieved his bag from the trunk of his car, and taking loud and heavy steps to the entrance of the house. You followed behind him, wondering what had gotten to him so suddenly. He would have slammed this door shut too, had you not been there to stop it. With a frustrated groan, you pushed your way inside. He kicked his shoes off and threw his bag on the couch, sauntering off into another room. You rolled your eyes and continued to follow after him.

“Niall?” You called as you made your way through your own house, in search of your bothered boyfriend.

He, of course, didn’t respond and you took on the journey of venturing up the stairs to look for him. Your shoes clicked as you walked along the hardwood flooring once you reached the top of the staircase. Popping your head in each of the rooms, you stopped when you heard a soft humming coming from the abandoned room at the end of the hall.

“Niall?” You repeated yourself as you neared the room. You peeked inside, to see him sitting on the floor with his back turned to you.

You stepped inside, joining him on the floor. He stopped humming when he noticed you, and he looked away. “What’s wrong?” You cooed as you reached forward to run your fingers through his hair, but he batted your hand away.

“Hey,” You whined, folding your hands together in your lap. “Why are you acting like this?”

He shook his head and let out a deep sigh.

“Niall,” You rested your hand on his shoulder. “Please talk to me.” He stubbornly shook his head again.

“What did I do to deserve the silent treatment?” You asked, your voice lowering.

Your head rose as you realized what he must have been upset about. “You know, I was just kidding earlier when I said maybe you’d make a goal next time,” You said softly. “I’m sorry if that upset you, Nialler.”

He turned around so that he was facing you, and he nudged your foot with his to gain your attention. “I wasn’t on my best game today. You didn’t make me chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast,” He made a cute pouty face and you giggled.

“Sorry,” You apologized again, already knowing what he would say next.

“Stop apologizing,” He said. He leaned forward and pinched your cheeks. “I’m just kidding,” He mimicked your voice.

You smiled and opened your arms. Niall immediately took the invitation and hurled himself into your arms. You laughed as he knocked you over, and you landed with him on top of you, his knees on either side of your body. He kissed your nose and smiled. “I’m sorry for being so grumpy, Cheyenne,” He said.

You waved it off before slithering out from underneath him. “You gonna catch me, Horan?” You stuck your tongue out and ran out of the room, almost slipping on your way. With a couple of roaring giggles, you hurried your way down the stairs, with Niall’s heavy and quick footsteps following shortly behind.

“You do realize who you’re dealing with here, don’t you?!” He called as he chased after you. “Of course I’ll catch you!”

**I’ve been a little short on ideas, but this is the first thing that came to my mind. I hope you liked it!**
