“Let’s do this!” Niall screamed as he dropped his backpack onto the ground in front of him, hearing it land with a thud. You dropped your stuff beside his and placed your hands on your hips while scanning your eyes over the space you had. You and Niall were out in the wilderness on a spontaneous camping trip, which you were still a little unsure about. It was Niall’s idea to pack up a few things and head out to the middle of nowhere for a night, not yours.

Niall threw his fist into the air and with a chuckle, he said, “This is great! Nobody’s gonna find us out here! We can be as loud and as obnoxious as we want and nobody can stop us! This is what real freedom feels like.” He walked a little further and leaves crunched under his step as he explored. He looked up and stared in awe at the height of some of the trees that surrounded him.

You watched as Niall wandered back to you, stepping over twigs and such along the way. He grabbed his backpack and unzipped it, and you laughed when you saw him pull out his soccer ball. As long as Niall had his ball, he was happy. He apparently didn’t need food or clothes, just his soccer ball. Luckily, you were a little more sensible when packing and you did think to bring food for the two of you. He placed the ball on the ground and gave it a strong kick, right into a tree. He was planning on playing a little one-on-one with the tree, but his plan backfired when the ball bounced back at him with equally as much force and hit him straight in his chest. Niall yelped, but you knew he was fine when he laughed it off.

“Why don’t you play with me instead of the tree?” You suggested, moving your things out of the way. Niall looked at you with a dirty smirk on his face as he balanced the ball on his hip. You rolled your eyes and said, “Stop being immature, you know what I meant.”

He laughed again and tossed the ball into the air before bouncing it off his knee a couple times. He let it fall to the ground and gently kicked it to you. You just passed the ball back and forth between each other, since you didn’t have goals or anything else.

By the time you finished with that, it was evening and the sun was close to disappearing. You did bring a tent along, so you and Niall eventually figured out how to put that together, just in time before you ran out of daylight. The country sky was dark now, and filled with stars. You and Niall took advantage of this and stared up at the stars while sitting together. You hugged your knees to your chest and Niall wrapped an arm around you, letting you lean into him.

“We should do this again. I like this,” Niall said as he rubbed his hand up and down your arm to warm you. It was a bit chilly at night, but Niall’s body heat kept you comfortable. You hummed in agreement and snuggled closer to him. You stayed like that until you felt that you should probably situate yourselves in the tent and possibly get a little sleep. The only issue was now that it was dark, you struggled to see your way around and you and Niall ended up tripping over each other a few times. But, you made it to your tent, nonetheless. Once inside, you unrolled your sleeping bags and threw your pillows down, before collapsing next to each other. You laid so that you were facing each other, and you were so close that you could tangle your legs with Niall’s. He smiled and pecked your forehead before saying, “I’m kind of a little hungry…”

**I really hope you like it!**
