“Hey honey,” Niall smiled, wrapping his arm around your waist. “I bought you something.”

You raised an eyebrow and laid your eyes upon his. “You shouldn’t do that,” You told him.

“I did it anyway,” He giggled, pulling away from you to grab a thin white box that had the words: For my princess scribbled across it.

You couldn’t help but smile softly as he handed it to you. He knotted his fingers together and stood with a huge grin on his face while you held the box in your hands. He bit his lip as you pulled the cover off, your jaw dropping for a couple reasons.

“Niall…” You started, unable to find any other words. Inside the box was a beautiful dress. It was pink in color, and it was knee-length. It had thin straps and little dots of silver glitter across the bottom of it. There was a pink ribbon tied around the waist of the dress. The dress was pretty, it really was. But you’d never wear it. The dress would be far too revealing and would definitely go against your religion.

You weren’t sure what to say. Niall was married to you, and he’d never seen you in anything but your traditional clothing that covered up most of your skin. He’d bought you different head scarves before, but nothing beyond that, clothing-wise, at least.

You blinked a couple times and gently folded the dress back up, placing it back in the box and setting the lid on top. “Sweetheart…” You tried your best not to cry about it. You didn’t want to hurt his feelings, of course. “I’m sorry, I…I can’t keep that.”

He unfolded his hands and his eyes grew wide. “Wait, what?”

“Please don’t feel bad,” You said as your head fell. “Niall, we’re married. You know that I can’t wear things like that- I won’t.”

“But…” He bit his lip again. “You’d look so beautiful in it! Amal, please! Just for me, just this once! Even if all you do is wear it once, please! I know you’d be stunning in it! Just try it on for me, please.”

You shook your head, feeling a bit hurt yourself. “Niall, I can’t, I won’t! You know this!”

He sighed and snatched the box back, leaving the room in a fury. “Niall!” You called after him. “Niall, come back. I don’t want to hurt your feelings. It’s a nice dress, it is! It’s just not for me.”

When you found him sitting on the kitchen floor, he had fresh tears in his eyes and you felt your heart shatter in that moment. “Niall,” You whispered, joining him on the floor. You lightly touched the side of his face and brushed the tears from his eyes. “Please don’t cry,” You said.

“I’m sorry,” He whimpered. “It’s my fault; I shouldn’t have gotten that dress. I know it’s against your religion, I just thought that maybe you’d consider it because it’s beautiful, just like you, but-”

“Don’t be sorry,” You said. “Why don’t we go do something? Like bake a cake? Would you like that?”

He smiled and nodded, pulling you onto his lap and swaying back and forth with you in his arms. Sniffling, he rested his chin on top of your head again. “You still smell pretty,” He whispered.

**There ya go! I hope you like it and I apologize for the wait. I know you told me some things about your religion already, but if there’s anything in here that offends you or your religion at all, please let me know and I’ll change it right away! Okay, have a good day!**
