Halloween Trio

"I look so cute," Niall said as he examined his reflection in the bathroom mirror. He smiled and wiggled his nose.

Rolling your eyes from outside the closed bathroom door, you snapped, "Okay, get over your cute self and let me see." You heard Niall's laugh as he gripped the doorknob with his furry hand. He opened the door slowly, and then all at once (ok I just reminded myself of that cute quote from TFIOS). A wide grin crossed Niall's features as he struck a pose, showing off his costume - which was the Cookie Monster from Sesame Street. And you dressed up as his partner, Elmo.

Dropping his arms to his sides, Niall smiled at you and said, "You look cute, too, princess. Actually, you look really cute." He chuckled at himself before adding, "In fact, you look so cute that I might... eat you up."

You couldn't help but chuckle a little bit at his pun, before grabbing his furry hand. "C'mon, dork, I want some candy," You said as you pulled him through your house. Though you and Niall were a bit too old to go trick-or-treating, you had Theo with you, so it made it a little more appropriate. At least, it did in your mind.

When you and Niall entered the room, Theo squealed and all eyes turned to you. "Awww!" Denise gushed, "You two are the cutest." Niall giggled and Greg smiled, grabbing Theo before he could run toward you and Niall.

Greg placed his son on his knee and bounced him for a moment, saying, "You excited, Theo? Are you excited to go trick-or-treating with Uncle Niall and Aunt (Y/N)?"

Theo made another noise and you assumed it meant that he was excited. Greg chuckled before setting the little boy, who was the mushroom from Mario Kart for the day, back on his feet. The little mushroom ran over to you as best as he could in his costume. You squatted down to his height and he reached up to touch the Elmo nose on the hood of your costume. A giggle, similar to Niall's, left his lips as he poked the nose. "You ready, 'shroom?" You asked him. He beamed at you in response.

"Here, I'll carry him," Niall offered, lifting Theo into his arms. He turned to his brother to say, "We'll be home in a couple hours. I got my phone on me, call if you need anything, yeah?"

Greg nodded and thanked his brother before watching the three of you walk down the driveway, with Theo peeking at his dad over Niall's shoulder. After waving to his son, Greg shut the door and you were on your way. "You're gonna share your candy with your favorite uncle, right, T?" Niall asked, tickling the little boy as he held him over his shoulder. Theo giggled, and that was the best response he could offer.

Your eyes met with Theo's blues and you shook your head at him, mouthing, 'Don't share.' Theo giggled at you, before shoving his little fingers in his mouth. "Hey," Niall whined, "Are you two conspiring against me back there?"

This time you were the giggler as you shrugged saying, "Maybe." Niall pouted, but a smile quickly returned to his face when he spotted an illuminated porch light.

"Baby, look!" He exclaimed, pointing to the light. "I think I found our first jackpot."

"What if they end up being those old people that hand out Church brochures instead of candy?" You raised your eyebrows, laughing as Niall frowned.
