You'd been staring at him all day. Not in a creepy way, but simply because you couldn't help yourself. He was so intriguing - his wide grin, his booming laugh, his sparkling eyes. Even the way he spoke, with that crisp accent, had you wishing you actually knew who he was. His hair was hanging loosely around his face, dripping at the tips from just having jumped in the pool. You watched him as he lifted his hand from underwater and ran his fingers through his blond-ish hair, pushing the wet strands out of his face. He turned so that his back faced you, and though you missed his gorgeous blue eyes, you didn't mind the spectacular view of his back muscles, either. You watched his back muscles flex as he engaged in a splashing-war with one of his friends in the pool. His laugh flowed through your ears once again, and you decided then that you had to make an effort to talk to him. Or, at least, get his name.

By now you had migrated over to the snack table, and you were picking at the plate of crackers and cheese when an uproar broke out in the pool. All the party guests, including yourself, craned their necks or turned their heads to see what was going on. Your eyes landed on your pretty boy from the other side of the pool. He wasn't in the water anymore, but like everyone else, he caught notice of the shrieking voice in the pool. You watched as a pair of arms flailed about in the water, followed by a woman's cry, "My daughter! My daughter, oh my god!"

A panicked expression crossed the blond boy's face and he exchanged glances with one of his friends. Without another moment of hesitation, he passed the cup he was holding to the closest person and demanded, "Hold this." You watched as he dove right into the water, with his arms out in front of him. A gasp erupted from the crowd and then silence followed as he swam through the water, grabbing the frantic girl in his strong arms. He quickly lifted her onto his shoulder, and she instantly inhaled a sharp gasp of air. The young girl held onto him for dear life. She was coughing and sobbing, all at once, as the blond boy slowly walked through the water, bringing her to the edge. He carefully lifted her small body and set her on the edge of the pool, where her mother immediately rushed over to tend to her panicked daughter. "Oh, thank you!" Her mother breathed, before caressing her daughter's face, "You're okay. You're okay, mommy's here."

The atmosphere had changed now, and everyone seemed to put their interest in the young girl - to assure that she was okay. Your eyes followed the blond boy as he lifted himself out of the water, walking away from the scene. He ventured over to your side of the pool and grabbed a towel, dabbing his face dry. When he set the towel down, his striking eyes met with yours and he offered a shy smile. "Hey," He softly said, walking past you to grab a chunk of watermelon from the snack table beside where you still stood.

"What's your name?" You blurted, unable to control yourself any longer. He was so damn delicious, especially when he licked his lips to collect the watermelon juice on them.

"Niall," He said, with a smirk on his face. He leaned against the table and crossed his arms over his chest, saying, "What's yours, darlin'?"

"Um..." You lamely mumbled, your mouth hanging open as you stared at his wet body.

He chuckled a little and flirtatiously said, "I'll just call you 'cutie'." A raging blush crept onto your face and you dropped your eyes to your feet as Niall said, "You like to dance, cutie?"

There was no way you'd be able to focus if he kept calling you that. "Um, I-" You nervously stuttered, before letting out a deep breath. Get it together, (Y/N). "I'm not that good at it, I guess," You mumbled, finally managing to speak a full sentence without sounding like an idiot.

"Ah, neither am I," He admitted, before looking at you to say, "We can make fools of ourselves together, yeah? C'mon, don't leave me hangin,' princess."

"You just saved that girl's life," You blurted, ignoring his last comment. "That was a really generous thing - to dive in for her like that."

He shrugged and said in his heavy accent, "S'nothin'. She needed me. I like to think that sometimes people need me." You weren't quite sure how to interpret that last part. It was as if he could tell this, because he simply changed the subject. "So, 'bout that dance..." He trailed off, offering his hand to you, "Join me, cutie?"

You gently smiled, carefully resting your hand in his. He shot you a toothy grin before pulling you out into the grass, as music filled your ears. Niall spun you around a few times, letting you move with your back against his chest. His hands were quite the wanderers, as they'd long been roaming the exposed skin of your thighs. With your back firmly pressed to his chest, you felt his breath blow across your neck as he nipped at your ear. You giggled like you were intoxicated, though you hadn't consumed any alcohol. "Maybe you should actually tell me your name now," He whispered, pressing sloppy kisses to your neck. He hummed against your skin, "Mm, if you can." You felt his smirk and if he were anyone else, you would've smacked him for a remark like that.

"(Y/N)," You shakily breathed out, "Niall, people are... people are w-watching." Your voice was broken and extremely breathy as you noticed a few people staring at you and Niall, getting all touchy in the corner.

"Good," Niall hissed, before playfully smacking your bum. "I'm gonna go find somethin' to drink. Want me to bring you somethin', cutie?"

You felt yourself blushing again as you shyly shook your head. Niall stared at you, with a boyish grin on his face, before disappearing to fetch himself a drink. You needed this time to regain your composure. Never, in your life, had you been so weak around a man. But, Niall -- Niall had some sort of power over you that you wouldn't dare to fight, even if you wanted to.

When Niall finally returned, he found you sitting on a lounge chair beside the pool. He took a seat on the chair next to yours and set his cup on the ground before chuckling and saying, "My mate over there said we'd make a cute couple." He watched as your head snapped in his direction and your eyes widened. Smirking, Niall added, "Me and you." He let out a long breath and reclined back in his chair, crossing his legs and folding his arms behind his back. "I think I agree with him. We should date."

"I just met y-" You couldn't even finish your sentence before Niall interrupted.

"That doesn't matter," He said, "How do you think people fall in love? They meet each other, hang out from time-to-time, get to know each other... it's a process. We'll start ours tomorrow, yeah? I'll pick you up at six."

"Niall-"

"Six o'clock it is, cutie. Be ready. I'll take you to a nice restaurant. You like Italian food?"

You sighed, but couldn't fight the smile that tugged at your lips. "Yeah," You breathed, "Okay."

**The ending might seem a little rushed but I meant for it to be that way haha. I hope everyone enjoyed this! If you have any imagine ideas, please leave them in a comment! I'm not doing personal requests right now, but I'll always take general imagine ideas. Thank you!!**
