You took a quick glance at your daughter, who sat comfortably in the passenger's seat next to you, with her eyes glued to the phone in her hands. The screen illuminated her face and you could see the smile on her lips as she scrolled through her latest messages. Curiously, you asked, "Who ya talkin' to?"

She grinned for a moment longer, as a new message popped up. "Hm?" She hummed, raising her eyes to you before mumbling, "Oh... no one." She giggled and bit down on her tongue while quickly typing out a response.

"I know you're lying to me," You said. Your eyes were kept on the road ahead of you, but she could see your suspicious smirk from the side of your face. A silence fell over the two of you as she continued to type out messages on her phone. Tired of the silence, and somewhat desperate to fill it, you turned up the volume on the radio. This didn't seem to catch your daughter's attention at all until a loud gasp slipped from your mouth. "Oh my god!" You excitedly squealed, knowing that intro too well. "Oh my god!" You repeated, in pure amusement, as you turned up the volume nearly as loud as it could go. "I haven't heard this song in forever," You exaggerated, lifting your hands from the wheel to sway them in the air.

"MOM!" You daughter shrieked, dropping her phone on her lap. "Drive! Focus on the road!" She demanded. You laughed and continued on with your wild dancing. You could hear her clearly, as she had managed to holler over the music. But you pretended to ignore her, more for your own amusement than anyone else's.

"What was that?" You smirked, "Sorry, I couldn't hear you over my sexy hubby!" You rolled down the windows, advertising your music to all of the surrounding drivers. This only annoyed your daughter more. "Oh, sing it, baby!" You shouted as the chorus came around. You were getting strange looks from people in the cars next to yours.

She sighed deeply and hid her face in her hands. "You're so embarrassing," She mumbled, secretly hoping that no one she knew was anywhere near. She couldn't help but to giggle, however, when you started to obnoxiously sing along, in the loudest voice you could manage. You drove with one hand, throwing the other in the air. "Even Dad would be embarrassed right now..." She said during a pause between verses, the only time you were quiet.

"No he wouldn't," You laughed, "Unlike you, Daddy would be a good sport and sing along with me." You glanced at her and she was staring at you with wide eyes. You laughed and screamed along with the next line. "How about this - you sing with me and I won't tell Dad about your flirty texts you got going on over there," You proposed, knowing she'd agree. Niall would be on her case in a heartbeat if he thought she was getting close to any boy, and that was the last thing she wanted.

She slapped her forehead with her hand and locked her phone, swallowing hard. "Fine," She breathed, as a blush crept across her features.

It wasn't long before the two of you were blaring One Direction and shamelessly screaming along to every single lyric.
