“Niall, let’s just go,” You said, tugging on your boyfriend’s arm in an attempt to guide him toward the door. But, he stood firmly in his place and refused to move until his point was made. His hands had balled up into fists at his sides and his jaw was clenched as he engaged in a loud shouting match with some guy at the bar.

“Keep your eyes off of my girl,” Niall growled at the guy. His accent was heavy and almost difficult for you to understand. People were starting to gather around Niall and the stranger at the bar, as if they were expecting a fight. You were determined to stop Niall before it got that far. Niall was slightly intoxicated, therefore he wasn’t thinking sensibly. He wasn’t thinking about the trouble he would be in if he didn’t control himself.

“Oh, honey, that’s your boyfriend?” The guy chuckled, ignoring Niall completely as he kept his interest on you. The guy’s eyes scanned over your body again before he brought a bottle to his lips with a smirk on his face. “Baby, you know you can do better than that,” The guy said to you as he set his bottle on the counter and stood. Your eyes widened as the guy took a step closer to you, but before he could move any further, Niall slipped out of your grip and tackled the guy to the ground. The crowd exploded instantly, throwing their hands in the air and cheering the two on.

Niall grabbed the guy by the collar of his shirt and pulled him up until their faces were only inches apart. You could see Niall’s mouth moving as he barked at the guy, but you had no idea what he was saying. The only thing you could hear was the crowd that roared around you. Once Niall was finished talking, he pinned the guy to the floor by his shoulders and you could see the guy say something to Niall, before another chuckle left his lips. Whatever he said didn’t go over well with Niall because he delivered a punch to the side of the guy’s face and the cheers grew even louder. You saw Niall wiggle his fingers before forming a fist and sending another punch to the guy’s face.

“That’s for starin’ at her like she was the last piece of meat on earth,” Niall snarled at the guy, and you heard him clearly this time. You couldn’t decide if it was because he was speaking louder or if the crowd had actually quieted down a little. Niall withdrew his hand for a minute, but only to wipe away the sweat that had collected on his forehead.

He quickly got back to work, though, as he took the collar of the guy’s shirt again and forcefully smashed his head against the floor. “That’s for callin’ her ‘baby’,” Niall growled, “Only I can call her that.”

You knew you wouldn’t be strong enough to pry Niall away from his enemy, but there had to be someone in that place that was. You desperately shoved your way through the crowd, keeping an eye out for someone that seemed intimidating enough to help you. Finally, you spotted a man across the room whom was tall enough to nearly tower over Niall. You made your way toward the man as fast as you could.

He seemed puzzled when you first approached him, but you quickly explained your situation, “Excuse me, sir, but I really need your help. My boyfriend’s over there and he’s… he’s fighting with some guy and I’m not strong enough to pull them apart, but you look like you might be.”

The man looked at you for a moment before grumbling, “Where’s he at?”

You led the man toward the fight, where the crowd seemed to have grown in the few minutes that you were away. The man pushed his way through the crowd with ease, and you followed in his footsteps. “Which one’s your boyfriend?” The man asked as he eyed the fight. The last time you looked, Niall was throwing punch after punch at the guy, but now it looked as if Niall had taken a few hits, himself.

You cringed as Niall turned his head and spat a mouthful of blood out onto the floor beside him. “The blond one,” You said to the man, and without hesitation, he stepped in. You watched with crossed fingers while the man approached Niall, and lifted him as if he was as light as a feather. Niall wiggled in the man’s arms, kicking his legs out and shouting at no one in particular. The man threw Niall over his shoulder and carried him to you, before motioning for you to follow. You obeyed, following behind as the man carried Niall outside. He set Niall down on his feet, and before disappearing back into the bar, the man said, “Take your lady home. She’s seen enough for one night.” And then he was gone, leaving you and Niall alone in silence.

Niall was breathing heavily with his hands on his hips. He still had fury coursing through him, but he seemed to have calmed down a bit now that he was out of that sickening environment. You inhaled a sharp breath as tears pricked at your eyes, but you refused to cry. Without wasting another minute, you engulfed Niall in a tight hug. He rested his head on your shoulder and you rubbed his back.

“I told you we should have just left,” You said, pulling away to examine the damage. You held Niall’s face in your hands and frowned as you spotted a cut on his lip that was still dotted with fresh blood. His face was sticky with sweat and he had a bruise forming on his chin. Other than that, he seemed to be fairly okay.

“I know,” He mumbled, “I never listen. I’m really sorry, Olivia.”

You shook your head and waved off his apology. “Don’t worry about it, okay? Let’s just get you home and I’ll see what I can do about that cut on your lip.”

**Hold on, I need to breathe for a minute. That was a lot haha! You left me to think of a plot for you, and this is what I came up with. I hope you like it!**
