Soraru had no idea where Mafu went. He could not catch up with Mafu because he was talking to Lon before he could. Lon's place was not far from theirs, and judging Mafu's stamina, he could only assume Mafu went home.
Or at least he hoped so.
He would not want Mafu to catch a cold just because he does not want to see Soraru at home and sit in a dark alley where he might face danger.
Soraru walked as fast as he could, taking long strides to do so. He wanted Mafu to give him a chance to explain, to apologise for always making him feel insecured. He wanted to see Mafu. As Soraru thought about his sentences, he reached the door to their home. He put his hand on the doorknob and pulled, as expected, it was unlocked.
He quickly entered, shut the door, took off his shoes, and walked towards the direction of their bedroom. The bedroom door was closed, he turned the doorknob.
Locked.
Soraru sighed. "Mafu?" he called out.
No reply.
"... Are you mad?" Soraru asked, careful with his words. He got a soft thud as a response. It was the sound of a pillow thrown to the door and landed on the ground. "... Mafumafu," he tried again. "Would you open the door for me...?"
Silence. Still no reply from Mafu. This is bad, thought Soraru.
"Okay, if you don't want to open the door then can you listen to me?" placing one palm on the door, he leaned his forehead against it and asked. He continued without waiting for Mafu's response. "Lon, I thought she was drunk. I couldn't leave her alone, it'll be a jerk of me if I did, and I'll hate myself for it but turns out she wasn't," Soraru paused for a bit, waiting to see if Mafu had anything to say but received nothing in respond. He took a deep breath and continued, "I didn't mean to get on her. She was just fooling around when she pulled me down with her on the bed. She told me just now that she knew you were there, and that she just wanted to give me a chance to talk to you,"
Another moment of silence. Soraru had no idea what else he could put in the most summarized way anymore. He opened his mouth, wanting to say something until he heard something shuffle towards the door.

The door was unlocked. He then heard Mafu's footsteps in the room. He pushed the door open, only to find Mafu all balled up on the bed in their blanket. Soraru slowly closed the door behind him, walked to the bed, and sat on the edge of it. He noticed how Mafu did not manage to cover the blankets over his head, his face buried in the sheets, so he reached out and placed his hand on Mafu's head. Soraru felt him flinch. He removed his hand immediately, thinking that Mafu did not want him to touch him anywhere.
But he could not bring himself not to. All this while, other than the things he wanted to say to him, all he could think of was that he wanted to touch him, to feel his body temperature seep into his skin.
Carefully, he placed his hand back on Mafu's head again and petted him gently. "Mafu?" he called out again, stretching his body forward to see if he would lift his face up and look at him.
Mafu did no such thing. Though he did say something with a muffled voice, his voice hoarser than usual. "Why did you choose to have dinner with her instead of me?"
"... That was because I had something I wanted to talk to her about," said Soraru. "About us," he added.
Upon this, Mafu finally lifted his face up to look at him. His eyes were all red and puffy, tears staining his cheeks. Still sitting on the edge of the bed, Soraru removed his hand from Mafu's head and moved to the side of it, on the bed, supporting his weight as he leaned his body closer to Mafu. He wanted to take a good look at him. Soraru felt a squeeze in his heart when he saw how swollen Mafu's eyes were. Mafu only stared back at him, confused at his previous sentence.
"You wouldn't want to know about it," Soraru then said, wanting to avoid talking about this to him. Mafu would be the last person he would want to know about this.
But Mafu seemed to disagree with this. He buried his face back in the sheets again, but this time with his face turned away from Soraru.
"... Mafumafu," said Soraru, his tone indicating that Mafu should not get ahead of himself. He eventually gave in after some time though. "Oh my god, do you really want me to say this? Mafu, I told her that it recently got harder for me to go gentle on you on bed, that it was difficult for me to face you,"
Mafu then lifted his head once again and turned to look at Soraru. "Eh?"
Soraru then climbed onto the bed, got under the blankets, hovered over Mafu and flipped him around so that Mafu's back was not faced towards him. He then bent down, his face only a few inches away from Mafu's.
"I've got my limits, Mafu," he pushed Mafu's bangs away, planting a soft kiss on his forehead. "Do you have any idea how much energy I have to put to keep myself controlled?" he looked at Mafu, not letting him avert his gaze away from his. He then lowered his head again, only to kiss him on his swollen eyes, as if doing so could help soothe them. As if doing so could show how sorry he was for making him feel sad.
"Mafu, do you understand what I am trying to tell you here?" Soraru asked, his voice low and dangerous. Soraru grazed lightly on Mafu's lips, afraid that he would put Mafu with more anger than he already has. But he could not take it. He wanted more. He sucked on Mafu's upper lip carefully, like the way he likes to and slipped his tongue into Mafu's mouth. Soraru sighed against Mafu's lips, kissing Mafu was always one of his favourite things to do. Mafu opened his mouth wider, allowing Soraru to deepen the kiss. He felt Mafu circle his arms around his neck, pulling him down, his knee grinding against Soraru's crotch as if hinting him to do something more than just kissing. He bit on Soraru's bottom lip, only to intensify the lust in him.
But the problem was not solved yet.
Soraru withdrew his tongue, silvery strands of saliva were formed as he broke the kiss. He thought he was a big mess but turned out Mafu was an even bigger one. Soraru watched as Mafu took in gulps of air with his mouth opened wide, wanting to kiss him again. He cupped Mafu's face gently, rubbing the tear stains off of it.
"I was just worried about her going home alone, and I already have you," Soraru continued their previous conversation even though he would prefer to continue what they were doing just now. "I appreciate you getting jealous though, don't get me wrong,"
Lowering his head, he pecked Mafu softly on the lips. "You were cute,"
With puffy cheeks, he hit Soraru on the shoulder. You would think that it would hurt, and it does. It was so cute when he punched him on the shoulder lightly. Definitely the heaviest punch he received all his life, right in the heart. "Worrying is an emotion that utilizes your heart to feel, of course I'd get jealous!" Mafu said, not forgetting to add a "I'm not cute!" after that.
He looked away from Soraru and then back at him again, wanting to say something. Soraru cocked a questioning brow at him, urging him to say what he has to say. "... But I'm glad you brought her home. Because that's the Soraru-san I like,"
"You're finally talking to me again," Soraru smiled, feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. "Say something more. I want to hear your voice,"
"This was all because of you, okay?"
"Mm, all because of me," Soraru repeated, sealing Mafu's mouth again as he did, his ears filled with the sound of Mafu giggling against his lips. Ah, he wondered how hard he fell for this idiot to the point that any sound he makes are like music to his ears.
When he finally let go of Mafu, he noticed that Mafu was fidgeting, feeling awkward. "Soraru-san, could it be..." he started but paused to look at Soraru. "... I felt like I accidentally touched something hot and hard but it might be my imagination..."
Soraru chuckled, disagreeing with him as he shook his head. "I'm sure it's not," he was the one who invited him in the first place.
Lon was right. It was going to be another long night.
