The large suitcase hits the wooden floor, it’s sound echoing through the large bedroom. You hurriedly zip up and set it aside, passing by the brown-haired man seated up on the bed to reach the corner of the room.

“How long are you going to keep this up?” His low voice cuts through the silence and you huff, grabbing another suitcase and beginning to fill it up with your personal contents. He sighs, eyes rolling back when he leans on a pillow, “Are you even listening to me?”

“I don’t know.” The second suitcase drops down onto the ground, this time louder than the first.

“It was an accident.”

“It was a mistake.” You get up from the ground, flared eyes staring at him, “A stupid one, but I’ve learned my lesson and you don’t need to worry. Just sign the divorce papers when you get a chance.”

“And if I don’t?” He places a hand on his cheek, solemnly gazing at you, “What will you do then?”

You clench your fists and send him a glare, “You have to sign. I’m not spending the rest of my life living like this.” An exhale escapes you, “Especially not with you.”

“One night.” He chuckles but it fades away faster than the blink of an eye, “One night ago and you wouldn’t be saying these things to me.”

“Of course my drunk self wouldn’t be saying these things Taehyung, but it’s one night later now and I’m sober enough to be awake to reality.”

“I was drunk too Y/N.” He glances up at you, eyes slowly dancing over to the empty glasses behind you with a sigh.

“And yet drunk or sober, you’re still a jerk. A jerk that doesn’t care if this marriage was real or not.”

“I do care Y/N, that’s what you’re being too blinded to see.” He stands up, walking over to your corner before he lowers his voice in a soothing tone, “I wanted this to work, real or not. I wanted…to see you by my side but I panicked, I-I…” Taehyung stutters and deeply exhales, reaching out but you turn to grasp the door knob.

“Y/N.” You don’t say a word, simply give him a glance, “Was marrying me really such a bad choice?”

His voice cracks at the end and you harshly suck in a breath when his hand carefully traces around your wrist, hesitant on wrapping around it and never letting you ever go or to set you completely free from this…mistake.

“You panicked.” One word plagues your thoughts, “Why?”

“Because it all went too fast, I thought I was going to lose you because of this one bad choice and I was scared to see that happen…” He somberly chuckles, “Getting married to you was never a mistake in my eyes Y/N. But to you, it is and will always be.”

After a moment of crystal silence, you sigh and shake your head, “You may be a jerk, but you are my jerk.”

Taehyung’s eyes perk up when you remove your hand from the door knob, turning around to face him with wet eyes. He softly smiles, caressing your cheek before wrapping you into his arms as he tightly shuts his eyes.

“What kind of jerk husband would I be if I’d let my wife go like that?”
