Jordan's heart sunk when he heard the line go dead. He looked down at his screen and sighed. He finished the last of his coffee and set the mug on the ground. His heart stopped when his phone rang but quickly dropped after realizing that it wasn't her. It was Joey.

"Hey Joe" He answered then cleared his throat. "Hey J, what's up?" Joey responded casually. "Nothin' much just sitting on the porch and having a cup of coffee why?" Jordan spoke. "Rehearsals for the gig on New Year's Eve start today, I'll be there in about an hour, do you wanna rehearse your songs too?" Joey explained.

Jordan didn't even think twice before responding. "Cool, I'll meet you there".

"Alright J, just send me a quick text when you're on the way" Joey answered with a small chuckle.

"Okay I will, bye Joe"

After hanging up, Jordan opened the garage and retrieved his trusty old keyboard. He smiled at the thought of playing it in front of their adoring fans. It's been awhile since he's performed alone. He then went to take a quick shower, get dressed and place some stuff that he may need for rehearsals into his car.

"Dad?" Spoke a familiar voice as the sound of shoes shuffling across the wood floor echoed in the room. Jordan turned around to find his eldest son dressed in pjs, rubbing the sleep from his eyes and yawning. "Hey bud" Jordan answered as he ruffled his hair and smiled. "Where are you going?" the young boy asked as he panned his eyes over him"I have to go to work" Jordan answered gently. "Work?" his son repeated. "Yeah bud, work" Jordan clarified. "Oh okay" his son said and yawned again. "Go back to sleep, I'll see you when I come home okay?" Jordan suggested as he pulled him in for a hug. "I'll go to sleep when you leave, I never get to see you dad, I always miss you." the small voice spoke as he felt him nuzzle into his chest. Jordan heart shattered at the confession. He had been too busy working and worrying about his marriage that he had almost forgotten how to be a father. No matter the situation at home, Jordan vowed to love his boys unconditionally. "I promise, when I come home, I'll take you and your brother to get dinner and the arcade" Jordan told him as he kissed his forehead. "You mean it?" the young boy asked as he pulled away to look up at him. "Of course I do" Jordan said while nodding.

He went to tuck him back into bed. And afterward, went to finish loading the rest of his things.

Ava walked aimlessly around her house. She was bored beyond her mind and felt lonely without her beloved Gracie. Jordan hasn't called her since the morning to which she was glad. New Years Eve was merely a few days away and she still needed to find something to wear. She settled for rummaging through her closet and found nothing. 'Absolutely nothing to wear' she thought to herself and shook her head.

Meanwhile, Jordan made it to the small venue to meet up with Joey. They greeted each other and started discussing songs that they could perform. "You gotta do that one J, it'll drive the crowd nuts" Joey suggested as Jordan reviewed over the songs he picked. "Really Joe?" He questioned and Joey nodded. Afterward, they talked with staff about the set up and everything that was needed for the show. Then spent a few hours rehearsing song of the songs that they had picked individually and finished around 7 pm. "Let me treat you to dinner J" Joey suggested as they waved goodbye to everybody inside the room from outside the front door. "I appreciate it Joe, but I promised my sons that I would spend time with them tonight" Jordan said and smiled. "Aww that sounds like a better idea, I think I'll do that with my own" Joey commented.
