"Mmm I love your kisses" he whispered in between a loving peck . Ava furiously blushed as soon as he said this and a huge smile formed on her face. " They're not that great" she answered modestly and chuckled at his eyes widening. "Are you kidding me, they're the perfect size for me" he urged and she shook her head as she watched with an amused expression. "They're small and weird and need I mention I haven't had much experience?" she answered. Jordan smirked his eyes traveling to her mouth as she spoke. "We can always fix that, you know practice makes improvement and I don't mind giving you a few lessons". Ava gasped and lightly smacked his arm as a small chuckle erupted from his throat. "There's my girl" he said and he beamed her a smile.

Jordan did not inform them of where they were going only that it was just going to be the two of them. This terrified her as Jordan was already sensing that something was bothering her, she only hoped that she didn't mess this up. Ava wasn't entirely sure what she meant by that, but the thought of screwing this all up gnawed at her brain almost all night. This was her first ever relationship and she was lucky enough to share it with Jordan. "Have got a bite to eat already baby?" he asked as his eyes remained on the road. "No not at all actually" she admitted. "Want to stop by a pizza place or what are you in for?". "Not sure only that I don't want to eat at a place if that makes sense" she spoke. By this point, they were at a red light, Jordan had turned to look over at her. Ava seemed distraught about something and it was now him who was bothered by that. It made him write conclusions impulsively, thinking that Ava wasn't sure about her feelings.

After settling for coffee and pastries, Jordan had driven them to the beach, which was thankfully somewhat vacant in result to the chilly morning weather. Ava allowed herself to be guided by him. He held her hand firmly as he led them towards an area, he seemed to be familiar with. Ava sighed as she took the seat next to him and sipped on her coffee. Her eyes fixated on the harsh waves crashing against the shore, not even paying attention to Jordan who watched her like a kitten who discovered how to play with yarn. Her curly hair flowed flawlessly in the wind, and her eyes appeared ten times brighter than usual. Ava closed her eyes almost as if she wanted to take in this moment.

In Jordan's eyes, she was exquisite, a true mystery. She was in her own world, one that he had yet to enter. As cliché as it may sound, Jordan believed that she was different in every aspect and that's what made her attractive to him. 'Was it love at first sight?' he wondered as he too glanced at the ocean.

A million thoughts raced through each of the two. Jordan was nervous for the first time ever around Ava. He was scared that Ava was going to say something that he knew he would not be able to swallow just yet. He wanted something with her and only hoped that she wanted it just as much as him. Sure, they were only in their early 20s but that's what made it exciting.

"Your coffee is gonna get cold," Ava pointed out as Jordan slightly jolted. "Oh sorry, I was enjoying the view" he answered as he picked up the cup and placed his lips over the small opening tilting it upwards. "It's really nice here" she began. "The beach?" he asked and she chuckled shortly. "No I meant Boston" she clarified. His eyes beamed when she said this, "Really? you like it here?". "Yes, well I mean it's different and that's what's good about it" she spoke. " Why is it good that it's different?" he questioned her. Ava sighed and took another small sip of her coffee before speaking again. "I'm not all that great with change". Jordan remained silent, waiting patiently for her to continue. "Change scares me you know? I got so used to living in California that moving here to Boston was a huge decision that I held in my hands". "Oh yeah, you told Joe somethin' about family changes and all" Jordan added and she nodded. "The man who lives with me and my mom, is Wilbert, he's like my step-dad but he never pressured me into treating him like an actual dad, he has just always been there for me and my mom ever since-" she spoke but paused as the memories came flooding in like a rushing waterfall. "My dad left us". Jordan's eyes softened as she saw the numb expression washing over her face. "Oh baby we don't have to talk about this if you don't want to" he assured her. Ava shook her head in defiance, "I want to". "I want you to know " she began again. "Because if one day I act out a certain way or lash out at you or overreact if god forbid, something bad happened to us or this" she gestured to both of them with her hand. "I don't want you to think it's because I was being unfair or I didn't care-" she paused again, looking up deep into his eyes. "It's because love wasn't present in my family, I don't know what it is, feels like or looks like and neither does my mom but I feel like Wilbert is showing her the ropes of it or ...more accurately because you hurt me ". Jordan nodded indicating that he understood her. "I'm not always soft and sweet, I have my moments of anger and fear. I've never dated because well nobody really has ever liked me back and after a couple of rejections, I figured I could do without a relationship as it has brought nothing but suffering for my mother who gave her everything to a man who was nothing." "Your dad?" he asked. "Yeah but he's not important and that's not the point" she responded firmly. "Then what is the point?" he asked as she tucked a loose piece of hair strand behind her ear. "The point is, I need guidance in this relationship, I need you to keep me grounded because I'll get lost trying to make sure you won't-" Ava cut herself off before she could finish. "Make sure I won't what?" he asked as his eyebrows furrowed. "Nothing, just to make sure you won't get lost either" she lied and he smiled. "I'm not lost, I found you didn't I?" he teased lighting up the mood a little. "You're such a dork" she said while gazing lovingly into his eyes
