Opening: KABANERI OF THE IRON FORTRESS

Ending: KABANERI OF THE IRON FORTRESS

Plot:  The world is in the midst of the industrial revolution when horrific creatures emerge from a mysterious virus, ripping through the flesh of humans to sate their never-ending appetite. The only way to kill these beings, known as "Kabane," is by destroying their steel-coated hearts. However, if bitten by one of these monsters, the victim is doomed to a fate worse than death, as the fallen rise once more to join the ranks of their fellow undead.

Only the most fortified of civilizations have survived this turmoil, as is the case with the island of Hinomoto, where mankind has created a massive wall to protect themselves from the endless hordes of Kabane. The only way into these giant fortresses is via heavily-armored trains, which are serviced and built by young men such as Ikoma. Having created a deadly weapon that he believes will easily pierce through the hearts of Kabane, Ikoma eagerly awaits the day when he will be able to fight using his new invention. Little does he know, however, that his chance will come much sooner than he expected...

Opinion: "Hey, that's the attack on titan ripoff!"

Oh hello angry fanboy! Didn't see you there. But what's that? The "attack on titan ripoff"? Oh, I see....

Let me be the first to say; shut up. The only thing I seem to find when researching this series is how much of an attack on titan doppelganger it is. Please, all of you, shut up. This isn't the first series to be similar to another. So why are you beating it up so badly? I will be honest, anyone who says koutetsujou no kabaneri isn't like attack on titan is a pretty big moron. The similarities are there. Clear as day, so many things make the two connect. Whether it's the similar creatures that threaten the human race, or the two protagonist that are determined to kill all the monsters because of the family they lost to them.

The biggest issue I have isn't that people don't like the show. That's totally Okay! Like what you want! It's just, the majority seem to hate the show because it's "stolen" basically all it's priorities from AOT. That isn't true. I can sit here and debate either sides of the argument. Stating many things that are basically the same and things that are 100% different. I'll start my opinion now..

First I'll begin with the plot, the story of the anime. Well basically humanity is in hiding behind walls from a race of monsters that eat and hunt them. Sounds familiar right? Well if I add more detail i can say that the monsters are basic zombies. Not towering, genderless titans. Just humans turned into zombies. Of course they have their hearts protected by a supernatural cage. The setting is Japan during it's industrial revolution. That alone is already so different from AOT. And the human race is actually divided into cities, rather than all together behind three giant walls.
