Shelby had tried to text a warning to Hope, but it was already too late.

Today, the plans were simple but exciting. First, Russia, Canada, and herself were going to throw together some poutine and have a Marvel movie marathon, starting with Captain America: The First Avenger. She was a big fan of the Marvel Cinaverse, so it was one of the many things she wanted to binge watch with her friends.

Plus, Steve Roger's was... Just yes.

She knocked on the door eagerly, a pleasant smile on her face. Only moments later, the door swung open and revealed Canada, who smiled at Hope happily.

"Good evening, friend Hope. Are you ready to watch the movies?" He asked in a soothing voice, although his accent was Slavic.

"Yes." Hope giggled, leaning forward and pecking Matthew's lips. "You do a cute little Russian accent, by the way."

Hope walked past and Canada stood completely still, dumbfounded at the fact that Hope just kissed him. His face turned a deep shade of red and he swallowed awkwardly as he touched his fingers to his lips. "Bozhe."

Hope continued inside, walking to the kitchen where Ivan was busy making poutine. "Hey there, bud!" She called. "I didn't know you knew how to make poutine? Did Mattie teach you just now?"

Russia looked down at Hope, his brows furrowing together in confusion. "Um... I'm confused. What do you mean, 'Did Mattie teach you'?" He questioned in a soft voice, which was accent-free.

Hope glanced at him in slight confusion. "I mean, did Mattie teach you? Are you feeling okay?"

"I, um, I think so. Why, do I look like sick? I don't wanna get you under the weather just as summer's starting..." He muttered cautiously, taking a step away.

"Oh, no no, you don't look sick. It's just... You and Mattie are both acting weird." Hope explained, but changed the subject as Ivan gave her another confused look. "Well, if you can handle the poutine, I'm gonna go set up the room for the movie, okay?" She inquired, flashing an excited smile as she hurried of to her room. There, she gathered up as many blankets and pillows as she could, attempting to carry them all in one trip to the living room, which was difficult to say the least, considering that she couldn't see where she was going.

"Uhh, friend Hope, are you needing some assistance?" Canada questioned.

"Nah, it's all good." She muttered through the blankets, allowing them to spill on the floor. "Unless you know how to build a good blanket fort."

"I think I may try." Matthew smiled in mild excitement, standing up and grabbing a blanket as Hope laid some onto the floor, setting up a small little pad of blankets for the three of them to lay on as they watch the movie. As she did so, Canada draped blankets in strategic places to create a fort. Hope noticed how he seemed to be becoming strangely frustrated with the fact that he couldn't reach certain places that he wanted to place the fabric.

"Hey, are you okay?" Hope asked for the second time that day. She was beginning to feel a bit like a broken record.

Canada glanced at her. His eyes were slightly dark, the shadows surrounding his face were almost purple, an aura of anger radiating off of him. "I am beginning to feel as though I am not as tall as I once thought I was." His voice almost growled.

Hope stared at him in shock, goosebumps crawling up her arms. "Uhhh, okay..."

Minutes later, Russia appeared with three steaming platters of poutine for each of the movie goers as well as lots of napkins. "Okay, poutines ready." He exclaimed softly, before his face donned concern upon seeing Hope's expression. "What happened? What's wrong?" He urged.

"What's wrong?" Hope echoed, placing her hands on the sides of her head, trying to stop the headache that was being to form. "What's wrong? You two are confusing the absolute hell outa me, that's what! Why are you both speaking with weird accents, and why do you know how to make poutine, and why do you sound so angry and scary?" She rambled, pointing to the respective countries. "It's really starting to FREAK. ME. OUT." The last few words came out snappier than usual, making Russia flinch, and she instantly felt bad. "Okay, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say it like that. It's just-"

"Wait." Canada spoke, his eyes locked on Russia with confusion. "Why am I standing across the room when I am right here?"

Russia blinked. "Holy maple... Ivan, why do you look exactly like me?"

Hope looked back and forth between them. "I... Can't even comprehend what's happening right now."

"They got their bodies switched, eh?" Kumajirou spoke up from his spot on the couch. "Canada is Russia and Russia is Canada."

"And you didn't think it would be a good idea to tell someone?" Hope inquired. The polar bear, however, fell silent, apparently done informing them of the predicament.

"So... You're Russia?" Hope gestured to Canada's body, who nodded. "And..." Hope's face flushed slightly in embarrassment, "I kissed you."

"You kissed him?" Canada-as-Russia whispered in horror.

"I didn't know it was Ivan!" Hope exclaimed.

"And you, just, let her kiss you?" His voice didn't really raise, but it was shaking quite a bit.

"I knew not what to do! It was so sudden, I did not know how to react!" Russia-as-Canada defended himself.

"Okay, I think we need to relax. I'm very sorry I kissed Ivan, Mattie, I had no clue it wasn't you. But it wasn't Ivan fault either. He was probably just trying not to be rude." Hope breathed, standing up and hugging Matthew-as-Ivan. "But... I'm not gonna kiss you when you look like my best friend. That makes me uncomfortable."

He sighed in understanding. "Okay... Maybe we should just get on with the movie, eh? To take our minds off this whole crazy scenario."

"Agreed. Let us settle in this fort sunflower and I set up and watch the superhero movie, da?" Russia-as-Canada stated, crawling into the fort. Hope let out a small giggle, crawling after him, and Matthew-as-Ivan followed with the poutine. The whole problem seemed to disappear as the movie played and they snacked away at their gravy-covered fries.

Until Hope opened her mouth when Steven Rogers emerged from the initial experiment that gave him his powers... And his biceps.

"God bless America." She muttered almost inaudibly. Unfortunately, the countries still heard her.

"WHAT?!" They demanded.
