I chuckled the moment I let my tears escape my eyes. It was because of joy though.
"You lost me. I lost you. Then we lost ourselves," I wiped my cheeks with my blanket which is damn embarrassing but completely comfortable. "Just how stupid are we in this lifetime, Exiquel?"
He gave me a pat on the head. "Stupid enough not to stop even if were broken, I guess."
We stared at each other then laughed at the same time.
I sighed at the back of my head.
This reminds me of how we were when we're younger.
In the clinic. I, sitting on the bed and him, sitting beside me.
"Quel, find yourself a great woman, okay?" I said.
There is no assurance that we'll meet again. And if we ever do in the future, I am not quite sure if he still feels the same because I know it will take years, or even a decade before our eyes collides for another time.
He smile and nodded.
That reassured me.
Now, I don't have to worry about how he will go and move forward.
"You know what, someday, I will introduce you to someone I know," I grinned. "So, you better fix yourself because if you ever mess up in front of her, I would punch you straight on the face. Do you understand?"
He chuckled. "Why does it feel like you don't trust me?" He joked.
I rolled my eyes. "You can't blame me, my sister doesn't trust you much as well."
I spent two more days in the hospital before they all agreed that I am good enough to go home.
My brother's eyepatch is also removed already. Though, the wound on his eyelid is horrible... well, that's what I want to say. I suddenly want to cut my eyelid as well because it really looks cool.
I am facing the mirror right now, and I am holding a kitchen knife in my left hand. I heaved a deep breath then slowly pulled it near my eye.
"Assia Emeraude!" Clea's voice echoed after the door swung open violently.
I flashed a small smile the moment I saw her furious expression. I can almost see steam coming out from her ears.
I hung my hands in the air then dropped the knife.
She marched towards me then held a tight grip on my shoulders. She started waggling me like I am some sort of a toy while screaming like a stupid cow. Her eyes were also shut.
"How dare you bluff about my daughter's safety?! You told me someone's gun is pointed directly at her temple when she's just having fun playing with your stupid puzzles and cubes with fucking different colors I can not understand! You fucking bitch! How dare you deceive me? And how dare you attempt that stupid plan again?! I am telling you, Assia Emeraude, it won't look fucking good on you, you dumbass!"
She was panting when she let go of me and I am a little dizzy. She picked up the knife then glared at me. "You're not allowed anywhere near sharp objects, do you understand?"
"Okay, okay," I chuckled. "And will you please move on? You already know that fact the day before I was discharged and you still act the same whenever you see me. I don't mean to be rude but you are starting to look damn stupid in my perspective, Clea." I said then let out a small burst of laughter to annoy her.
She rolled her eyes then threw the knife in the door's direction which penetrated it deeply. I bet if I pulled that out, there will be a hole in my door. I'll have someone change that for me.
"I am not stupid, Assia," She snorted. "I just can't picture how you set those traps and all and how you came up with those ideas. And that brother of yours..." She was making sounds with her fingers. "I thought he's your lover or whatever and you just came back because you want to file divorce again."
I smirked and wiggled my eyebrows.
Her forehead creased. "I can hear your damb thoughts, Assia," She shoot me dagger glares. "You're thinking that I am River's girl whom he's been hiding from you, right?" She smirked.
"I can hear your thoughts as well, Clea. I am not paying you even a penny to revealy who she really is," I flipped my hair. "Have you forgotten who are you talking to?"
Her lips twitched. "Yeah, yeah, you are Assia Emeraude Vista the fucking great."
"Why are you here, anyway?" I asked as I sip on my wine.
She clapped. "Oh," She closed her eyes. I must be imagining the dark aura surrounding her as well as the steam coming out of her ears and nose. "Why is my daughter looking for you, Assia? She's been crying and looking for you!"
I chuckled. "She probably want to play more puzzles with me."
She pouted. "You are turning my daughter to a nerd, just like you," She said. "She might just become a math whatever and I will never understand that."
I winked. "Don't worry, she'll teach you our ways," I replied then laughed like a madman.
I don't know how long we have been throwing feathers on each other. We have completely lost track to the time and it is just so amazing because even in just short period of time, it felt like I traveled back in time when the mess means nothing for us and the world is not yet cruel in our perspective.
"I heard you're leaving tomorrow," She said.
We are laying on the floor, near the gigantic window of my room.
"Yep," I said, emphasizing the sound of the letter P. "You see that gorgeous sky, Clea? I will be flying there," I grinned. "I will be able to touch the clouds with my eyes again. I beat you on that," I bragged.
She snorted. "Well, it doesn't matter for me because I will be able to spend more time with Exiquel, with the love of your life," She said then faced me just to show me how she stuck her tongue out.
I raised my middle finger. "I don't care. You can even go and marry him for all I care. Though, he doesn't want you anymore so I bet he's not going to marry you."
She sighed then let out a sarcastic laugh. "Why don't you just stay here and be with him?" She asked. "I mean, it is pretty obvious that you are in love with me. It is still pretty obvious, Assia." She pointed out.
"And why don't you just mind your own business and talk to your damned husband so that he'll stop pestering me as well?" I crossed my arms.
We were glaring at each other but soon laughed like the crazy we are.
"Let's go, they're all waiting downstairs."
They prepared a party for me. I don't really get why they have to do all this. Send off party. They all look sad but it is kind of hard to believe since the party is so lively and so loud.
"Kochi kochi kow~," I played with Andra's little hands and pinched her cheeks lightly.
"Acha," She giggled.
I was about to pinch her cheeks again when Marco, Clea's husband, pulled her away because Clea said so.
Well, my sister still can't accept the fact that her daughter's first word is "Acha," which she me "Athijha," and not "mama" or "mommy".
"I see," I said. "Your mommy is jealous of me, baby. I guess you can't play with me anymore," I said the pouted.
Clea hit me on the head lightly then pointed at someone in a secretive manner.
She smirked. "And someone out there is jealous because you called my daughter baby."
I took a quick glance. He looks like he's murmuring some curses and I can't help but laugh my ass out.
What the fuck has gotten onto him again.
I walked towards him.
"What's with the look?" I asked.
He made a face that I find cute even if it is a bit rude. He also mimicked me like a baby. He clicked his tongue while I was watching him with amusement.
"Don't look at me like that, Assia. Just go to your baby," He mumbled.
"Are you really jealous? Quel, she is a baby, literally. Stop pouring salt to your own wound," I said then laughed in a mocking manner.
"Hey, w... who said I am jealous? No one is jealous of anyone, Assia. Stop assuming things," He stuttered.
"Then I'll just go back to my s-," Before I could even finish what I am saying, he grabbed my arm.
His brows are furrowed. "Nope, you're not going anywhere. You're staying here with me."
Me? Staying here?
I closed my eyes. Now, it is possible to escape this party. I want no drama before I leave and it seems like my sister prepared something like that.
I tugged the hem of Exiquel's shirt. "What?" He asked.
"Will you go with me?"
He looked around. "Where?"
I smiled a little. "To the cliff, of course."
"No," He said which made my brows furrow.
"Why not?" I asked.
"You just want to escape this party and just don't want to hear their farewells," He replied and crossed his arms. "And what are you gonna do there? Just stare at the moon or something?"
I made a face then stepped on his foot.
"Stop sounding so sarcastic. And it's better to talk with my son than hear their farewells and shed a tear in the crowd. So, if you don't want to come with me, then be clueless about where I buried Zein. Tsk, asshole."
I started to walk away in a fast pace. I was playing with my car keys when Exiquel grabbed my wrist. I glared at him. I almost tossed it away.
"What the fuck is your problem now?" I asked with an expressionless face but deep inside, I feel like laughing.
He looked away and clenched his jaw. "I will be driving," He said then snatched my keys.
I watched his back unbelievably as I trace his steps.
What an amusing man.
He asked me where I parked my car so I played with him for a bit. I pointed at the every direction like a drunkard which annoyed him, I guess.
I laughed. "I'm just kidding. That's my car," I said then pointed at the grey porsche beside his car.
"You're not messing with me again, are you?" He closed the gap between us.
I shook my head. I was about to take a step backwards when he grabbed my by the waist and gently slammed my body against his.
My hands were placed on his chest which prevented us from getting a little more closer.
"What? You don't believe me? Use the damn keys so that you'll know, bastard," I said then pushed him away with all my strength.
Damn, that move made my heart unstable.
I clicked my tongue. He should have used the keys ten minutes ago. I mean, I didn't know he can be this awfully stupid when he's in a deep thought which is always interrupted by an external virus which is me.
He clicked his tongue then marched towards my car.
I quietly followed him and sat at the passenger seat.
He sighed.
"What?" I asked with a little bit of annoyance. I mean, I just feel like it. No reasons, I just want to fight him. I'm kidding.
"It was you, huh?" He said.
My forehead creased out of confusion. What does he mean?
"I just remembered something from last month. I saw a grey porsche at the parking area of the Alonso's Corp. and a day after that, I heard from Clea that someone bought more than half of the shares of their company," He gave me quick glance. "It was you, right? The anonymous buyer under the name of Emerald."
I chuckeled then hummed. "Did you jusr realized that? I mean, I've been working on sonething under your noses," I joked.
