My Serial Killer Best Friend by aphroditesb_tch

Thanks aphroditesb_tch for asking me to review your book, it’s definitely a story that I would want to read more of.

Cover:
I like that the words “Best Friend” looked to have been stained with blood which is fitting for your book seeing as the best friend is a serial killer. All in all I think it’s a good cover, it’s easy to the eyes and isn’t too over the top.

Description:
Very good blurb, it gets the point across and doesn’t reveal too much of the storyline. I particularly like the last line at the end “What could possibly go wrong?”, as before it states that she has a perfect life and that she could potentially lose it all because of a unwise decision.

Storyline:
In the book so far, the setting is a abandoned hospital where a doctor (who I’m guessing is a her because of the cover) is trying to treat a hurt serial killer who at first refuses to let her help him but eventually gives in. He even tries to convince her to leave and to go back to the perfect life she had but she’s refuses to and stays, and now she’s on the run with a criminal. I do have a question and that is whether the doctor has a husband or a fiancé as in the blurb it says she has a husband whereas in the book it says she has a fiancé or is it just that they haven’t gotten married yet? This doesn’t change the fact that this is a very promising storyline indeed, I really like it, I can’t wait for you to write more!

Characters:
So the serial killer as we already know has killed people but yet he gets squeamish when he sees the skeletons of dead people as he has never waited for the skin of his victims to disintegrate, despite being a “cold hearted”  killer he has been shown to have some emotions such as when he tells the doctor to leave and that she’s still got their life ahead of them. The doctor has a perfect life: a loving fiancé and steady income Despite the doctor being scared of him, she still talks back to him such as when they tell him to shut up, she’s also dedicated to helping as many patients as she can no matter who they are and won’t abandon them. In a way she’s risking everything for him, let’s just hope it was worth it.

Grammar/Spelling:
I couldn’t find any mistakes in your book so far, so well done on that! The way you write it, it feels as if I’m actually there in that abandoned hospital with the doctor and the serial killer, you’ve brought your story to life!

Engagement of the reader:
So far it is intriguing, I want to find out what happens now that the doctor has decided to stay with the killer and in a way has left her old life behind including her husband and whether or not they would get caught. I really hope you’ll update it soon!
