Book: The Boy Made Of String

Engagement: 5/5

This book was extremely engaging. I loved the way you were able to describe every moment with intense detail, and there was never a dull moment. I also have to say that the book gave me vibes of the movie 9, the little prince, and something steampunk, it's very creative and extremely engaging.

Clarity 5/5

Honestly, you've written the book very clearly. It's very easy to understand, I will admit I did have to look up one thing, but it was one of the mentioned gems for Gatekeeper's eyes. Again, the book is very easy to understand, so don't worry about that.

Timeline 5/5

This book is in an alternate universe, but the timeline is still there. I love the way it's written, and I can see how things piece together. There are no overlapping timelines or things that don't make sense.

Writing Style 4.5/5

I remember you asked me about your prose. I honestly had no idea what that was until I looked it up, and to be honest, I think it's helped your writing rather than being too dense or bothering it. Your writing is very descriptive and beautiful. I think it's probably some of the best writing I've seen on Wattpad. There is one thing though, I see in one of the chapters you had written fowl(another word for a chicken), instead of foul(Something unpleasant). This is a simple mistake, but I thought I should point it out.

Characters 5/5

You had asked if I could connect with the main character, and the answer is yes. I've only read up to Chapter 5 and part of 6 so I'm going to have to call him String Boy since it's the only name I have for him. Anyways, I am very able to connect with string boy. You've used his physical delicate state and had it connect directly with his personality. He does seem to be very delicate, but it's not to the point where it would annoy the reader. I like that you've shown that even though he's very close to his mother he'll also try to make himself seem more confident. I also have to say that his character seems adorable and I love the way you created him.

Now for Gatekeeper. He was introduced in The Parlor (Chapter 5), so I don't have much information on him. Though, I do like his initiative kindness to String Boy. When he was first introduced it was hard to tell if he was supposed to be trusted or not, which is a good thing. As an author, you have to know what information give and when to give it, and you've mastered that already. Gatekeeper seems to be a bit of a jokester, and very kind. He also doesn't like the Way King, it does seem that this may be the only reason for him helping String Boy, but it may turn into something more than that. In the long run, he's also a very good character and I'm able to connect with him as well.

Plot 5/5

You said that your book was inspired by something from Tim Burton and that it was also still an original work. I don't know what it was inspired on, but it still has a wonderful plot. It doesn't confuse me and the plot is very clear. The climax hasn't yet hit, but the conflict is there and clear.

Overall

Your overall score was 4.9 stars. You are a very talented writer, and I do love your story. I think you should work on getting this book published when you're finished with it. It definitely doesn't have enough recognition and I believe that if it had more it would be very popular. You have the potential for a best seller book, and I hope that this review has helped you in some way.
