The Secrets Behind Us, A story of Love, Lies and Hatred by -hmunelson

Thank you for asking me to review your book -hmunelson, I am such a big fan of historical themed books so I was excited to read yours!

Cover:
The picture is of a woman who’s getting married and is noticeably wearing a nose ring which is per the Hindu culture as it is a symbol of a girl getting married and adorning this ornament is also considered as paying respect to the Goddess Parvati. I like how the colour of the title and the background contrast very well. I think this is a very beautiful cover, I really like it.

Description:
This is a very well written blurb, it just gives little gems of the story like without overdoing it or boring the reader. I especially liked the line “Come on, let’s explore the story of #AdhiRav.” It feels as though you’re actually beckoning to us as the readers and encouraging us  to actually read the story.

Storyline:
The story is about a girl named Adhira who’s the Rajkumari (which means princess) of the kingdom of Ujjain whose at war with and to be at peace with each other both sides have agreed to a marriage alliance by marrying Adhira with Rakumar (which means prince) Bhairav of Trigata. Both of them do not want to marry each other as they already have someone they love, however there’s more to the eye and maybe things will change for Adhira and Bhairav. We just have to wait and see. Even though the story has just began, I believe this story has promise. I can’t want for the future updates.

Characters:
I like the character of Adhira, (who is also regarded as the ‘pride of Ujjain’) she’s not your everyday girly princess but a warrior/combat princess she is also known to have a bad temper and break stuff however her maids are used to it and don’t mind cleaning up after her, despite her bad temper she does have a soft caring side which we can see from her interactions with her nephew and sister in law and how her goal is to just protect people and that if she fails in doing that then she would feel a immense amount of guilt. Bhairav like Adhira has a bad temper as well, there are two sides to him, his caring side which he only shows to his lover Padmini and his ruler side as he is the heir to the throne, they both have a mutual hate for each other as they blame each other for the problems and wars in their country, to me I feel like Bhairav feels more hate towards Adhira as he believes that she’s ruining his life by becoming his wife and he will get revenge on her. This is just a theory of mine but I’m wondering did Bhairav kill Adhira’s older brother? (If not I’m sorry that I got it really wrong). I like that you introduce characters along the story to make the storyline more interesting and open up new opportunities to new sub plots.

Grammar/Spelling:
I couldn’t find any mistakes regarding spelling or grammar so well done on this area. Also thank you for that translations from Hindi to English I really appreciate it otherwise I would’ve had to use google translate a lot.

Engagement of the reader:
I was so into the story that I didn’t even realise I had reached the end of it, I love the backstories so much. This is such a interesting story I cannot wait to read more of it!
