Filing out of the exam hall, hundreds upon hundreds of students spilled into the courtyard, and disappeared into the buildings and corridors surrounding them.
Carrying his messenger bag, Yunho took his phone out from inside it and held the power button, turning it on. He would have liked to claim that he was more interested in turning on his phone and checking through his missed notifications, but alas, what he was really more preoccupied with, was spotting a certain head of dark brown hair in the crowds...
Making his way lazily towards the med building, he couldn't help looking up from his phone every two seconds and scanning the crowds...
But as he made it further and further out of the thick of it, he began to feel a disappointed twang that maybe, he'd missed him...
Until suddenly, a tender, soft, delicate hand wove itself into the inside of his elbow, weaving his arm gently into his.
Looking up, distracted by the touch and slightly taken aback, he had recognised the hand, before he even saw his face.
'Min-ah,' he breathed, before his eyes even met his.
The boy smiled, squeezing his arm. 'How'd you go on the exam?'
'Fine... You?'
He watched as Mingi bit gently into his lip, evaluating himself. 'I guess okay... I had a mind blank half way through...'
Yunho felt his lips pull into a smile, melted by just the mere way his words fell from his lips. Biting into his lips to keep his smile from growing, he nudged him gently, loving the way it made him giggle a little in surprise as they walked. 'I'm sure you did fine. You studied really hard.'
He felt Mingi squeeze his arm again, and saw the way his smile escaped him seemingly without even thinking about it. It made him feel incredibly happy... relieved, even, that he could experience those things, after thinking he'd missed out...
Memories of last night flooded his memory, and although he still couldn't believe he'd said so much, he had woken up that morning without a single regret.
Instead, it felt kind of a relief to be able to stand next to him, and know that all his imperfections were pre-disclosed, all of his worries and his doubts and his concerns... They were all on the table.
And Mingi was still here, right by his side, because he chose to be...
'Yun-ah~.'
He looked across at him, staring into his almost too-dark eyes. 'Mmm?'
'I'm curious... What are you going to do on your break?'
He frowned, confused. 'Once I finish exams and placement?'
He nodded, intently listening to him.
'I don't know... I haven't really thought about it... Usually I just help out around my parents' clinic... Why?'
He shrugged, staring off down the corridor. 'I don't know. I guess I just wondered what you do with your free time.'
'Well that's simple. I study and I work for my parents, and when I get sick of the above and can't take it anymore, I text San and we go to the pub. It's a vicious cycle.'
Mingi turned to look at him with a shocked expression. 'You don't do anything special?'
He frowned. 'Like what?'
'I don't know... Like... going sightseeing or watching movies or... I don't know, I guess everything in between those...'
He shook his head slowly, thinking about it. 'Should I be doing those things?'
Mingi slipped his arm further into his and dreamily gazed up at the world as they walked. 'Yun, you should be living...'
He couldn't help himself. 'What will you do then... To live...?'
Mingi retracted his arm a little, only leaving his hand on his elbow once more. 'I have placement for a lot of the break...' he said regretfully. 'But I told San I want to visit the beach... In saying that though, I also kind of want to just sit at home and listen to music and read books...'
Yunho's heart throbbed. 'You can do all of that...' he breathed, suddenly just wanting nothing more than to give him everything he wanted...
He glanced across at him and suddenly felt light headed as he saw the gentle blush on his cheeks... He looked beautiful... Velvet skin... Skin he knew felt even softer than it looked... Plush lips... Lips he was immensely aware were as delicate and tender as they looked - maybe even more... Not a soul would be able to convince him that they weren't the softest lips in the world...
'Yun, you're staring again...'
Snapped from his daze, he realised that he'd almost stopped walking, just staring at him and becoming lost in the view... Those dark eyes, shrouded by strands of dark hair tangling with his eyelashes...
'Yun...'
He shook his head, bringing himself back to reality. 'Sorry... did- um... did you... say... something?'
He watched as Mingi's cherry lips pulled into an amused smirk, before he shook his head, biting into his smile.
'You did, didn't you? What did you say?' he urged as they began walking once more.
But Mingi shook his head, unable to contain his playful smile.
'Aw ya! Tell me!' he laughed, feeling his cheeks burn.
Mingi giggled, slapping his shoulder gently and pushing him away as they somehow descended into a teasing exchange, one that had them unaware of the entirety of their surroundings. There was just Yunho begging him to tell him, and Mingi giggling hysterically as he refused... Yunho pulling at him, and Mingi pushing him away...
And some say time flies when you're having fun, but the lengthy walk from the exam block to the medicine facility was over in the blink of an eye, and suddenly, Yunho was having to deal with the pain of the realisation of his nightmares...
It was almost time to separate again.
As he leant against the lockers and watched Mingi opening his lock combination, pulling out a couple of textbooks, he couldn't help but feel his chest ache...
'I know what I want to do on my break,' he suddenly said, without a single forethought.
Checking he had everything he needed, Mingi shut his locker door and let his eyes fall upon him. 'Mmm? And what might that be? Wait- can I guess?'
Yunho's heart fluttered. 'I suppose...'
Nibbling on his lip idly, he looked up into the top corner of his vision, thinking intently. 'Go fishing?'
He laughed. 'No.'
'Learn to hand paint properly?'
More laughter that he couldn't contain. 'Been there done that, not for me.'
Mingi giggled before he leant against his locker, close enough to cause Yunho's skin to prickle with the proximity. 'Learn origami so you can make me a newspaper hat?'
He almost snorted. 'You want me to learn to fold you a paper hat?'
He shrugged, poking his tongue into the corner of his smiling lips. 'Too much to ask for?'
Yunho's entire body felt warm and toasty, melted by the boy's smiles and playful teasing. The sound of Mingi's laughter was sending him almost delirious, and it was making himself laugh more than he was ever used to. 'I will fold you as many hats as you want,' he said, biting into a smirk. 'Although I can't vouch for how decent of a quality they will be...'
Mingi's lips pulled into a magnificent smile. 'I shall cherish them with my whole heart,' he breathed.
And it had Yunho barely able to stand. He was so affected by him... 'Min...' he said, softer, looking at his lips smiling sweetly, and his eyes glittering kindly.
'Mmm?'
'I want to spend my holiday with you...'
The air around them froze, and suddenly, all there was, was their eyes locked together, and the unspoken words between them. Mingi's lips fell apart in surprise, and Yunho's in awe once anew, and as the space between them seemed to disappear, the world around them that had before been blurred out, evaporated.
'Yun-ah...'
Gently and subtly reaching out low towards Mingi, he looped his index finger around his, delivering himself a zap as their skin touched...
'I like being around you too much... I want to spend it with you...'
Mingi's lips pulled into a small smile, and his eyes broke their gaze, drifting down to settle on their entwined fingers... 'I'd like that...' he whispered, brushing his thumb against his finger and creating electricity between them.
Yunho had never heard anything more relieving in his life. 'Really?' he asked, almost a plea for him to say yes...
The brunette nodded, bringing his eyes back up to rest on his. 'We can google how to make paper hats together?'
Yunho ascended.
'I wouldn't miss it for the world.'
