After we all finished eating, we all decided that we were going to make the ginger bread house together.
By all I mean Manny and Karen too.
They wanted to join us, so we let them.
"Dang Mum, you got a lot of candy. I'm going to steal some and eat it." Shawn smiled as he grabbed and looked in a bag that was full of candy.
"Shawn, you know that candy is going on the ginger bread house, right?"
Shawn looked immediately at Aaliyah saying, "I know that."
"We may not use all of the candy though. There will be plenty to snack on." Karen said.
"And that is why Skyler and I are taking a least half of the leftovers," Shawn said as he looked down at his sister who was standing next to him.
I was standing in between Manny and Karen.
"Shawn," Karen chuckled.
Aaliyah sighed, and then said, "It's fine. They can have all the left overs if they want. I'm going to get milkshakes with my bestie girl later tonight. She actually didn't go to the cabins..." Aaliyah said while looking at her parents.
"She didn't? Why?" Karen asked.
"She was sick with the flu, but she's better now." Aaliyah replied.
"That stinks that she had the flu. Gosh, I hate the flu." Karen said.
"Me too, but let's stop talking about it. I do not want to get sick." Shawn told his mom.
"We won't get sick by talking about it, silly goose." I chuckled at him.
"You never know, babygirl." Shawn said.
I rolled my eyes and began helping Shawn open up all the mini bags of candy.
"Ooh, these skittles are totally going to go on the roof. It'll make the roof look colorful." Aaliyah said as she snatched the bag of skittles away from Shawn.
"In order for this candy to stick, I think we have to put icing all over all these pieces." Karen said as she lifted up a piece to the house.
"You're right Mum, we do." Aaliyah said as she put the bag of skittles on the table.
"Here's three bags of icing." Shawn said as he grabbed the bags of icing out of a bag.
He handed one bag to Aaliyah, one to Karen, and one to me.
"We can share the bag." Shawn told me.
"K." I said, grabbed a piece of the house, and then started lathering icing all over it.
"You guys are lame. We should have Christmas music on while we do this." Manny told us, and then disappeared into the living room.
I think he was going to turn some music on.
I was right because a few seconds later some music started blasting from the other room.
It wasn't Christmas music that started playing. It was Shawn's Illuminate album.
"This is the wrong CD." I heard Manny say.
"You think?" Shawn chuckled.
"I wanna let her take control—" I started singing as There's Nothing Holding Me Back was on.
"Leave it, Dad." Aaliyah shouted.
"She pulls me in enough to keep me guessing
And maybe I should stop and start confessing
Confessing, yeah" Karen sang.
"Go Mum," Aaliyah smiled chuckling as she put icing on a piece.
"Oh god." Shawn said.
"You take all my inhibitions

Aaliyah joined in with me and sang the next part.

Shawn couldn't stop chuckling at all of us.
"Pulls me in enough to keep me guessing
And maybe I should stop and start confessing

"Yeah Dad," Aaliyah smiled.
"Oh, I've been shaking

"Jump! Jump! Jump!" Aaliyah and I shouted in unison and started jumping like crazy.
"You guys are so weird." Shawn said as we continued jumping.
Aaliyah and I chuckled as we jumped.

I was shocked that he actually joined in.
I stopped jumping, got closer to Shawn, and then hugged him.
He looked down at me and smiled.

Once the song ended, we all smiled at each other.
"Damn, that was fun." Manny said.
"The only thing is when you sing Shawn, you have to add some dance moves in while you're singing." Karen said and Shawn looked at her.
"Yeah Shawn, you gotta shake what your Mama gave you!" Manny exclaimed and then shook his butt a little.
"Dad!" Shawn said as his face immediately got bright red.
Aaliyah and I were trying so hard not to laugh.
We both were biting our bottom lip.
