"All you'll have to do is draw faces pretty much, Shawn." I said.

"I can do that," Shawn said and put more cookie cutters in the dough.

"You won't have to do any kind of details and that stuff. You can leave that to the girls." Aaliyah smiled and looked at me.

"Will do," Shawn said.

Once we finished cutting out all the ginger bread, which took us a few more minutes, we grabbed all the different colored icings.

"Ooh, I'm going to start with red." Shawn said as he grabbed the little bag of red icing.

"Should we build a ginger bread house for these ginger bread?" Aaliyah asked as she grabbed the purple icing and I grabbed the blue.

"Aaliyah! That's a great idea! Oh my gosh! We totally should!" I said while jumping up and down.

"I'm down," Shawn said all chill.

"Hey Mum!" Aaliyah shouted and then left to go find her mother.

"Okay, hopefully I don't ruin this ginger bread with my awful art skills." Shawn chuckled as he started drawing a face on a ginger bread.

"You are so fucking cute." I couldn't help but say out loud.

"Well, you are cuter." Shawn said.

"No, you are." I replied.

"No, you."

"Ooh, this face isn't that bad." Shawn smiled proudly as he looked at the face that he drew on his ginger bread.

I got closer to him, looked at it, and smiled, "It's cute."

"Hey guys. Karen and I are going to the grocery store to get the ginger bread house kit." Aaliyah came to us saying.

"Okay, have fun. Oh, and tell Mum I'll cook dinner tonight." Shawn said.

"Got it," Aaliyah said and then left again.

"I better get a start on dinner soon." Shawn told me.

"How about this? We finish decorating these, and then I'll help you cook something up."

"Deal." Shawn smiled at me and then we continued drawing faces on the ginger bread.

"Do you know what we are going to cook?" I asked Shawn.

"No, but knowing my Mum she probably has noodles stashed somewhere." Shawn said, and then Manny scared us by entering the room.

"Fuck Dad, you scared the crap out of me!" Shawn said as he looked at his father.

"Sorry." Manny chuckled.

"I couldn't help but overhear you guys. I can assist you guys with cooking dinner if you want." He added.

"Dad, no, seriously. Sit down and enjoy a drink. We want to do this for you and Mum." Shawn said as he was drawing a face.

"But decorating all these ginger bread and cooking dinner is a lot—"

"We seriously don't care." I told Manny.

"Alright then, but if you start cooking dinner and it gets to be a lot...you can call me and I'll come help." Manny said, and then went to go get an alcoholic drink.

"God, your family is the sweetest." I told Shawn as I looked up at him.

"Hints why I am so sweet." Shawn smirked.

I smiled, rolled my eyes, and then finished putting faces on the gingerbread.

Finally, we finished decorating the ginger bread after like 45 minutes.

When we got finished with that, Shawn and I headed over to the cooking area together.

"Okay. I'll get the sausages and you find the noodles." I told Shawn and opened up the refrigerator.

"I love when you take charge." Shawn said and then found the noodles a few seconds later.

I grabbed the sausages, and then asked, "Okay, how do I make these sausages?"

"Let's look it up." Shawn chuckled after he thought for a second.

Shawn pulled his handy dandy phone out, and then looked up how to cook sausages.

"Ooh! I found it!" Shawn said, and then I grabbed the phone from him.

I read how to bake sausages and when I finished reading I handed him back his phone.

"Shawn, you're going to be 20 in a few months and you don't know how to cook sausages?" Manny said as he finished getting his drink together.

"I know." Shawn chuckled at himself.

"I don't know to either." I chuckled.

"You guys need to learn how to cook things by heart. What if you guys end up get stranded in a place where there's no cook books or internet? What would you both do?" Manny asked as I began to do the steps to cook the sausages.

"Uh–I was about to say we could live off restaurants, but that's not that healthy. The only thing I can make by heart are eggs." Shawn said as I saw him looking at me.

"That's certainly not healthy, bud." Manny told his son in reply.

"We could live off eggs and sandwiches." I said.

"You could, but that would get old. Anyways, I'm going to go sit on the couch in the living room and watch TV. I would advise that in your free time, memorize how to make things other than eggs and sandwiches." Manny said, and then the three of us chuckled.

When Manny left, Shawn shook his head saying, "My dad can be so silly, it's not even funny."

"There are cook books and recipes for a reason." I chuckled, and then worked on cooking the sausages while Shawn started cooking the spaghetti.
