We Found Love

Chapter 39

Cez, Andrew, and John even made it to this party.

When they entered, Shawn and I walked to them and greeted them.

"What's up, peeps?" Cez smiled at Shawn and I.

"What up, dude." Shawn smiled back.

"Well, the birthday girl looks beautiful this evening." John complimented me.

"Thank you," I smiled.

"Now, let's get this party started. Shawn, where are the drinks?" Cez asked.

"Over there where there's a crowd of people." Shawn pointed to a crowd of people.

I am not going to drink tonight and I don't think Shawn is going to either.

"Thanks, bud. We'll see you guys. Have fun and happy birthday Sky." Andrew said.

"Thanks, you have fun also." I replied, and then they left.

"Hey, are you getting hungry?" Shawn asked as he looked at me.

"Yes and I could honestly use a break from dancing." I said.

"Me too. Let's go." Shawn said, and then we walked to the table with a bunch of food.

We each grabbed a plate and filled it with food.

"It's pretty loud. Wanna go out on the balcony? I could use a little quiet." Shawn asked.

"Sure," I replied after I grabbed a water out of the cooler.

I didn't even know there was a balcony until Shawn told me.

When we got outside on the balcony, there were some chairs. We each sat in one and began eating our snacks.

"Are you enjoying your party?" Shawn asked me as I took a sip of my water.

"Yes, I am. Are you?" I asked after I swallowed the little bit of water.

"Of course," he smiled at me.

I smiled back.

"You are so great." Shawn said as he kept on smiling at me.

"Well, you are great also." I smiled.

We continued eating our food on our plates as we enjoyed the peace and quiet.

After we both finished eating, we both wanted to look and enjoy the view of the LA city lights. So, we did.

We both leaned on the railing of the balcony beside each other.

Here is a perfect time to tell him my true feelings. We are alone. Nobody else is around us.

"Shawn?"

"Yeah?" He turned his body towards me.

"I need to tell you something."

"In fact, I need to tell you something too, but you go first."

"No, you can go first." I told him.

"Okay...well..." Shawn started.

"What? You can tell me." I looked at him.

"I like you more than just a friend."

"You do?"

"Yes." Shawn smiled, and then I smiled back at him.

"Well, I like you more than just a friend too." I said.

"So, that means we both like each other..."

"Yep." I replied.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Thank god I didn't go first. It would've been so much harder if I had to start this conversation.

"So, what do we do now?" Shawn asked.

"I don't know. Do you want things to change?" I asked.

"Yes, do you?"

"Yes." I replied with a smile.

"Then, Miss Skyler Jones, would you do me the honors of going out with me?"

"Yes," I chuckled.

Shawn and I hugged. Suddenly, Aaliyah barged in while we were hugging saying, "There you guys are."

We both looked straight at her.

"Oops, did I interrupt something?" Aaliyah asked.

Shawn nodded his head yes.

"Oh..."

"It's totally fine, Aaliyah." I said.

"Well, I'll go tell everyone else where you guys are." Aaliyah said, and then left.

Shawn and I's arms were still around one another.

We both looked at each other and chuckled.

"I love Aaliyah so much," I said.

"Me too," Shawn smiled, and then his smile soon faded. He just stared at me and I just stared at him.

He looked at my lips.

"You can kiss me." I said, and then he looked back into my eyes.

"Okay," Shawn said.

A few seconds later, he started leaning in.

I just stayed still until he gently put his lips on mine.

Once his lips were on mine, I started kissing back immediately.

Oh my gosh, I feel butterflies in my stomach.

I started seeing fireworks a second later.

I closed my eyes and really enjoyed Shawn's soft lips against mine.

We kissed for a minute or so, and then I pulled away.

I smiled and said, "Wow."

"Wow is right," Shawn smiled.
