“Loser.” Willow muttered and rubbed the side of her head.
I sat back in my chair and took a deep breath. I missed Nathan. I missed his laugh. I missed his smile. I missed his weird sense of humor. I missed everything about him.
I even missed the rest of the boys. I missed Siva’s awkwardness. I missed Tom’s outrageous loudness. I missed Jay’s weird dirty jokes. I missed Max’s shiny head.
Okay, maybe I was joking a little on that last one, but I do miss Max as well. :)
“Any word from any of your boys?” I asked the girls. Kat shrugged and continued to write something in her journal. “Max said that they’re busy in the studio at the moment and can’t really find time to talk to anyone.”
“But Nathan sure does find time for Jordan, huh?” Rachael added with a smirk.
I grabbed the pillow sitting to the right of me and gave her a threatening look. “Do you want a possible bruise on your head?”
Rachael’s eyes went wide and she held up her hands. “No thank you, I like m y head bruise-free.”
I nodded my head and shot her an innocent smile. “Good.” I stretched out my arms and stared at the TV.
Spongebob.
I tell ya, that’s like the only thing on TV nowadays.
“To this day, I still wonder what the Krabby Patty secret formula is.” Heather said as she walked in and found a place on the couch next to Kat. “Still a mystery.”
Rachael leaned forward from her chair and gave Heather a weird look. “Are you kidding me? It’s not real!”
“Well how else do they have such amazing patties and a piece of plankton trying to steal the formula?” Heather shot back.
“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe ‘cause it’s a CARTOON?!”
Heather shrugged and picked up the remote. “I don’t care what you say, that formula is real.”
Rachael took a deep breath and threw her head back. “It’s a cartoon about a sponge that lives under water in a pineapple whose best friend is a starfish that lives under a rock and he works at some place called the ‘Krusty Krab’ in Bikini Bottom. How the heck do you believe it’s real?”
“How the heck are you the oldest again?” Willow added.
I chuckled and closed my eyes.
I love these weirdos.
Nathan’s P.O.V
I spent that night thinking. And thinking. And thinking. And thinking.
There has to be some way to see Jordan again. I have to visit her somehow. Some way without management finding out and freaking out, then eventually punishing me for leaving the country when our album and single aren’t even done yet.
I tossed my head back in frustration and closed my eyes.
“There has to be some way.” I said quietly to myself.
I stayed like that for a while before I finally just got up and searched the nightstand for my phone.
Oh wait.
I forgot. I don’t even have my phone because our manager took it after today’s “incident”.
I shook my head and told myself to go get a drink. I walked out the door and made my way downstairs.
I forgot to put on the light switch before walking into the kitchen, but oh well. I was tired.
I opened the refrigerator door and grabbed the gallon of water from in there. My hands went to the cabinets in search of a cup but stopped when I heard something.
Footsteps.
I froze.
The footsteps were getting closer. It was the middle of the night; surely it wasn’t any one of the guys.
I was not getting robbed. Nope. No. This isn’t happening. I’ve seen this in movies, and it doesn’t end so well.
Oh come on, I didn’t even ask Jordan out yet.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and immediately jumped at their touch. “AAHHH!” I screamed.
“Aye mate, calm down! Shh!! The rest of the guys are sleeping!”
There was no mistaking that Bolton accent.
“Tom?” I said. “Wh-what are you doing still up?”
“I could ask you the exact same thing.”
I sighed and walked over to where I placed the gallon of water on the table. “I don’t know. I couldn’t sleep. I was just thinking about Jordan. I really miss her.”
Tom reached out for the cabinet and pulled out two glasses. “I hear ya, mate. I miss my Heather too.” He walked over to me and placed the cups next to the gallon. “But I think it’s a little more complicate with you and Jordan.”
I nodded my head and let out a deep breath. “I just really wanna see her. That’s all. But I know that management won’t approve at all.”
Tom stayed silent as he poured the water into both glasses, so I continued. “Tom, this is the part where you give me some advice of some sort.”
“What? What do I look like, Dr. Phil? Nath, to be honest, if I were you, I’d just sneak off without telling anyone and see her. As long as you don’t get caught, you’re fine.” Tom replied.
I shook my head in slight frustration. Of course Tom would come up with a ridiculous idea like-WAIT!
“Tom!” I exclaimed.
Tom stared up at me with a weird look in his eye. “What? And keep your voice down a bit, will ya?”
I forgot about the last part he said and picked up my glass of water. “Look, I have a plan. Do you think that you and the rest of the guys are willing to do it?”
Tom shrugged and took a sip of his water. “Depends.”
I smiled and leaned against the wall.
I had a brilliant plan.
