"Yes, but you haven't done that, Thomas." Jay pointed out.
Tom gave him a glare and Jay just held up his hands. "Sorry but it's true! We've played like 6 times already and all Tom ends up doing is moving backwards while the rest of us move forward!"
"Hey! It's not my fault that I could be in the lead at one point and then all of a sudden, Jolly makes me go back to the Gumdrop Mountains!"
"Mate, you don't know how ridiculous that just sounded." Max said and went in to pick up a card from he pile. He looked at it for a second and smiled before he held it up. Two orange squares were on the card. He reached over and moved his gingerbread man that many spaces. "It's that simple, Tom."
"Why are we even playing this again?" Nathan asked as be bent over to pick up a card from the pile.
"Because we're bored! So stop asking questions and just carry on with the game because I wanna win for the fourth time!" Willow answered.
"No! I'm gonna win for the fourth time!" Jay argued.
"Yeah well we'll see, McGuiness!"
In the past 6 times we've played this game today, Jay and Willow both had 3 wins. Now, this would be the last game and it would determine the winner.
"Just prepare yourself for my win. I'm telling you now, ahead of time." Jay said and smiled.
"I will rip out all your hair and dance on your curls, boy!" Willow threatened and a look of horror came on Jay's face.
"Well that is quite the threat for poor Jaybird." I said and chuckled.
I back up a little bit so I could see what was on Nathan's card that he just picked up. He frowned when he realized where he had to end up. His hand reached out for his little red gingerbread man and put it on the blue square that red under it "LOST IN LOLLIPOP WOODS. STAY HERE UNTIL A BLUE CARD IS DRAWN."
Tom pointed at Nathan and burst out laughing. "HA HA, YOU'RE LOST IN THE LOLLIPOP WOODS AND CAN'T MOVE!"
"Wow, you're almost as bad as Tom at this game." I joked and gave Nathan a smile. He gave me a small smile back and stared at the game board.
Are boys really oblivious to girls' feelings so much? Or is it just Nathan? I shook my head and tried to forget the image of his smile out of my head.
"All I need is anything but a red or purple square and I'll win." Jay said and carefully reached out for the card pile. Willow's orange gingerbread man was only one square away from Jay's blue one. If either one of them got an orange, yellow, or blue, they'd win.
Jay picked up his card but kept it faced down as he looked at Willow with a determined face. "Watch me win."
"I'd rather watch you lose."
"Well that sucks for you, 'cause it's not gonna happen."
"Yeah well, I'm gonna reach the Candy Castle before you!"
"You are not!"
"Watch me!"
"Well I-"
"OH WOULD YOU JUST LOOK AT YOUR CARD ALREADY?!" Everyone shouted at the same time.
But before Jay even flipped it over, the door burst open and two voices were heard from the doorway. "HEEYYYY!!!"
Willow groaned and whipped her head around to stare at who it was. A smile soon came on her face when she noticed it was Heather and Rachael. "Hey guys, love ya and all, but we're kinda in the middle of a very important game!"
