"What do you want, Erik?!" I yelled as I made my way out to the garden. Erik was just standing there, jumping up and down like a weirdo. "Seriously dude, calm down."

"There's a new kid." He was overly excited. It honestly reminded me of how King Patton was at the idea of introducing me to his son. Wait, his son. Is that who Erik is talking about?

"Have you met him?" He stopped jumping and looked at me quizzically.

"How did you know it was a boy?"

"Doesn't matter, Have you met him?" He shook his head and sighed.

"No, Deceit showed up. Seems like they knew each other." He knows Deceit? Well, I guess that makes sense. If he is the son of the Fae king than knowing a fairy like Deceit isn't too far a stretch. But, why the snake? Why does he have to be friends with him? ANd what's with that name? Deceit... I don't trust him... "There he is!"

Erik grabbed my arm and pulled me behind a tree. He pointed out towards these two kids, one I immediately recognized as Deceit. So that means the other one is the new kid. I wonder if that is Patton's son. You never know there could be a bunch of new kids here for the party... and totally not only people I would know since it is my birthday party.

The other boy had black hair with purple streaks hidden beneath a dark grey beanie. He had pale skin and dark brown eyes. He had a purple shirt and black pants. But I think, what caught my eye was the hoodie he was wearing. It was this black hoodie with purple patchwork and a storm cloud patch sewn on it. It was nothing that I've seen before.

"Well, there's no time like the present." I start walking towards them and Erik tenses up. I have no idea what that is about but... "Greetings." I say as I walked over. I see Deceit put an arm up to block the new kid and I stop. "I only came to introduce myself."

"Seriously? Everyone knows who you are, Roman." Deceit hissed out and the new guy's eyes went wide. I watched as he pulled the beanie down farther down past his ears. I crossed my arms and gave Deceit a dirty look.

"Regardless, that was my intention."I turned back to the new kid and smiled. He responded by pulling his hood up and crossing his arms. It was almost like he was trying to hide, or hide something. I shook my head and held out my hand. He looked at me a bit confused and first and sighed. "My name is Roman... Prince Roman Sanders of the human kingdom."

"Virgil... Virgil Sanders." He shy took my hand and then went back to hugging himself. Deceit hissed again and took a step in front of us both.

"There you met him now GO AWAY!" I was taken aback. I have never seen Deceit so protective of someone. Well, other than his pet snake. I just sighed and took a step back.

"What's your damage Deceit?"

"What?!" He yelled and his yellow eyes began to glow.

"I only wanted to say hello."

"And you did so now say goodbye." I just sighed and shook my head. Now I understand why Erik was so tense. It was like Deceit was being Virgil's personal bodyguard or something. Once again I turned back to Virgil, ignoring Deceit's frustration.

"I have a birthday party in a few, I would love it if you came. It would give us more time to get to know each other." Virgil just nodded, turning away. and I smiled. I stuck my tongue out at Deceit and left him there fuming. I had to get ready for the party anyway and Hey... I might even end up with a new friend by the end of the day.
