On The Horizon

One morning,

On the sea's horizon,

There was a ship,

You could barely keep your eyes on.

It was a destroyer,

Sturdy and proud,

Surrounding skies beautiful,

Not a single cloud.

But as I watched,

I couldn't help but wonder,

If he was there,

My mind had to ponder.

But once again,

The next morning came,

My destroyer was gone,

And everything looked the same.

But no one knew,

How much I loved that ship

Whenever I would see it,

My heart would always skip.
