Chapter 40: Lost

~Aron~

I ran so fast away from my past. The guilt was drowning me like I was in a box of water. I was still drenched in blood, Hayley's blood.

It was something that I didn't mean to do. I just did it because I wanted to get even with Seth. He deserves the grief that is on his way.

I fly up and in the sky away from the small town and away from her...

I know I promised I would never leave her. I just can't face myself to lie about something that she knows that I did.

But she would hate me for lying once again for leaving.

Then again she is going to hate me anyways. I have to stay.

I land back down on the ground and pull my wings back.
I landed outside of her house. Why?

She came out of her house and saw me. It was to late to hide what I did.

"Aron what are you-? Wait why do you have blood on your shirt?!"

"I...please just understand." I said as I began to walk up to her.

"Understand what?! Why do you have blood all over you???"

I took awhile to answer her but then did. "I killed Hayley."

"What! Your insane!"

"Please Venus hear me out! I'm sorry!"
I tried to stop her as she was walking away from my reach.

"I don't need to hear your apology Aron! What's wrong with you!!!"

I then caught a hold of her wrist and she tried to yank it back.
"Let go of me Aron. Let go!!!"

I then eventually did and she ran off.
"I didn't mean to..."
I said even though I knew she couldn't hear me.

No one could...

~Venus~

I ran into the woods and stopped to catch my breath. I began to cry right then and there because I cared. I let myself care and he doesn't even think of anyone else but himself.

Then my phone rings. It's Seth.

I answer him and his voice sounds as if he was crying for hours. "Seth?!"

"Yeah Venus I just...I just found Hayley's body dumped right in the middle of the woods."

"Aron did it."

"What!"

"Aron just confessed to me he did it and claims he didn't mean it. I don't believe him Seth." I begin to run my fingers through my hair.

"He is gone. He is gone this time Venus and there's no humanity left in him. Nothing good, nothing to love. The Aron we knew doesn't exist."

''I'm not sure if I'm ready to believe that yet." I said as I looked up at the stars and wished everything could just go back to normal.

Aron I miss you...
