April 1st 2015, Cape Town

I woke up to my phone ringing, I took a look at it and I surely didn't expect to see the name that was on the screen.

"Dylan?" I answered the phone

"Hey Jade, I've read online you're in Cape Town... you could have called me" he asked

"Oh my god!" I exclaimed, "you're right, I didn't realize we finally could meet"

"I'm hurt" he joked, "are you free today?"

"You're actually lucky... I am weirdly free today"

"That's settled then... where can we meet?"

"Can you come to my hotel? I don't want to cause a fuss"

"Sure superstar"

"I'll text you the details, see you soon!" I hung up.

Dylan was a childhood friend that had moved to South Africa when we were sixteen. I loved him dearly and I had missed him a lot when he went away. I felt stupid for not thinking about texting him to meet up but was utterly happy he had read online I was in his city.

I decided to go sunbathing by the hotel pool whilst waiting for him to arrive. He was one of those friends I could count on even if we didn't speak for months. I started reminiscing all the memories I had with him and I just couldn't wait to spend some time with him. We had met in kindergarten, on our first day he had come to talk to me and we had got along immediately. I had grown with him and together we had done some unimaginable things.

"Look at you" I immediately recognized his voice coming from behind. I stood up and squeezed him in a tight hug that he obviously returned, "I must admit, I had missed your hugs" he said while he was still holding me in his arms

"It seems unreal to have you here in front of me again" I admitted

"It's crazy that we haven't seen each others in two years"

"What's happened to you hair?" I asked as I ran my hand through the blue lock that stood out in his blond hair

"Do you like it?" he smiled as I nodded

"It suits you" I smirked, "how is life in South Africa?" I asked as we sat on a beach chair

"Pretty chilled, I'm studying to become a doctor" he proudly smiled, "what about you superstar?"

"Aww, I'm so proud of you" I grinned, "however my life has become pretty crazy"

"I see you all over Twitter and Instagram nowadays" he winked, "I stalk you" he giggled

"Do you want to order anything miss?" a waiter asked me. I looked at Dylan and he just shrugged at me so I ordered two mojitos

"You remember?" he asked with an impressed smile on his face

"How could I forget your favorite drink?" I winked, "do you remember when we tried to make it at home?" I giggled

"Oh my god!" he bursted out laughing, "they were absolutely disgusting! And do you remember when we stole that champagne bottle from your parents' cupboard?" we kept laughing

"I think they never found out about that... but they found out about the crystal vase you broke with that soccer ball and I took the blame to save your ass"

"That day was amazing" he smiled at the memories, "how's Stella?"

"She's amazing, she's all over the place with her modeling career" I said before we started gossiping about our childhood friends and enemies.
