Chapter 40 - Motivated

His intuition has told him that she began to get attracted to him due not just his immense strength but made her feel normal and treat her like a normal woman.

Ryuu didn't plan on flirting with her and only wanted to be friendly but his luck seemed to increase with the ladies.

"Mitsuri-san, how are you? What are you doing here?" Ryuu with a bright smile.

"I-I want to give you some bento knowing you'd be hungry after training. Shinobu had requested to bring you one."

He shook his head wondering why Shinobu seemed to be the one pushing him to have a harem. It was completely an overall from the canon anime that she seems not to be the same Shinobu that he knew.

Ryuu didn't mind but he wondered if it was alright with her. He was truly a bizarre mindset when it comes to women. Mitsuri places the bento on a nearby rock to sit down on while taking quick glances from Ryuu's glistening body that was covered in sweat.

He was already used to her looking at his body with certain intention. Ryuu sat down beside him looking at the meal brought by her.

"Oh this smells great! Are you the one who cooked it?" Ryuu commented, enjoying the aroma.

"Uhmm H-How did you know?” Mitsuri shyly said.

"Lucky guess, thanks for the meal."

Ryuu knew it was her based on the type of dishes that were heavily western. He took the chopstick using it after deciding to learn how to properly use it.

"The taste is even better than the smell!! Umai!"

He screamed about getting a habit of Rengoku who sometimes talks to him about training. Ryuu liked his personality similar to his brother who was an outspoken person.

Mitsuri, hearing his compliment blush and smiled, felt happy that he enjoyed it. Ryuu wasn't exaggerating about the taste considering the ingredients used and its scarcity was truly amazing.

"Why are you not eating? I know you're holding back but please let's eat together."

Ryuu knew how gluttonous she can be due to her body requiring a large amount of nutrients. Mitsuri blush was more and reluctantly joined him with their meal. Along the way, Ryuu decided to ask her a question.

"Hey I've been wondering? After this is all over, do you have any dream you'd want to do?"

Mitsuri heard him paused for a moment and contemplated his question. It was a simple one yet a difficult one to answer after all they had only the purpose of doing demon slayer job and that was killing demons.

"I-I...w-well do you know the reason why I joined the demon slayer corp?" Mitsuri asked.

"Don't know? Maybe find your husband?"

Ryuu teasingly said having learned from Shinobu to grow a pair. Mitsuri heard him become a blushing mess that he almost wanted to pinch his cheek.

"T-That's actually why I wanted to join the demon slayer. To look for someone strong enough to be my husband." She was flustered trying to tell him while her heart fluttered.

"Oh is that how it is? Then maybe you'll eventually find that person."

Mitsuri wanted to tell him that it was him but held herself wanting to see if it was real and wasn't onesided.

"Y-You think? I wanted to have a peaceful life after all of this and have my own family. Maybe go on a journey with my husband."

Ryuu hearing her words made him warmly smile looking at the sky enjoying their moments but was interrupted by a Kakushi.

"Lady Kanroji! Oyakata-sama had called your presence along with Ryuu-san."

His veins pop in annoyances but calm down and quickly pack their things to head towards Kagaya.

Ryuu had come to respect the man, always giving small words when he bumped into him. He was like his deceased grandfather from his mother's side.

"Oyakata-sama, I've brought them." Kakushi said.

"Ah, thank you."

The Kakushi excuses itself, leaving Mitsuri and Ryuu to Kagaya who gives a welcoming smile.

"How was your training, Ryuu-san?" Kagaya calmly asked.

"It's going well, Oyakata-sama. I've successfully made my own style and need to create two more." Ryuu answered back.

"Is there a reason why you want to have multiple forms? Wouldn't that hinder your Skills?" He asked.

"Perhaps but I want to stay unpredictable and could use the other style so my opponent could be caught by surprise." Ryuu simply took the good stuff and discarded the unnecessary stuff.

"Is that so? Well I hope you succeed." Kagaya said.

"Thank you, Oyakata-sama." Ryuu nodded.

"O-Oyakata-sama, is there a reason why you've brought us here?" Mitsuri asked, getting his attention.

"Ah yes, I want to ask the two of you to take care of a recent demon who had been presumably a Lower Moon demon. The other Hashira had been occupied and I wish for Ryuu to become a Hashira."

There are two known methods that allow one to prove that they are worthy of becoming a Hashira: the first method is to accumulate a demon kill count of at least 50 or slay a member of the Twelve Kizuki or moon as a Kinoe-ranked Demon Slayer or the highest rank.

The second and last method is being a Tsuguko or successor of a Hashira, which requires immense talent in of itself, and only takes effect when said Hashira dies or retires.

Ryuu flinches at the reward before smiling, having a sword that could cut through dimension and make a portal along with severing the connection of being.

He ponders if it was possible to use against a Sacred gear user to separate them from their wielder. It is possible that his [ Gluttony ] would devour their soul and gain the ability but he doesn't want to carelessly consume soul.

Ryuu doesn't want to kill Issei if he ever intended to gain his sacred gear since he has a parent waiting for him.

He isn't some bloodthirsty asshole who thinks that it is justifiable to kill him simply because he is a perverted idiot.
