You ran, faster than you ever had before. You could feel the dragon fire warm your back. It's heat was aggressive and you knew that if you didn't run fast enough, it would consume you.

The urgent pattering of passing footsteps warned you that the other dwarves too were running.

Your gaze shot to Kili. "Kili, where is my Father?" You shouted as the dwarf began to run beside you.

"By the King's statue." He said with heavy breaths.

Your brows furrowed. He planned to trap the dragon in the molten gold. The furnaces would heat it perfectly. But it would not set, not quick enough to contain the strength of Smaug. "It's never going to work." You breathed. Before Kili could respond you shot the other way towards the dragon who ran towards the great arch way. You could see beyond his gigantic form, a small figure running the same way.

"Tyra, wait!" Kili yelled.

But you couldn't. The journey had treated you well. You had kept out of your Father's way for the most part, often enjoying your own company. But the dwarves had grown very close to you. Even those you had not known before had grown to admire you love for adventure and your strength to protect those you loved. And you often spent time by the fire beside them. Yet ultimately, you were happy with your own thoughts. It had been moments like this, moments of intense danger that you had pushed aside your desire for your introverted comforts and had helped the dwarves fight their way to safety.

Smaug had practically demolished the entrance to the great King's hall. And by the time he turned to escape Erebor, you heard a farmiliar booming voice. You turned, stopping your pace in the hall. You were too late. The dragon saw you first and his eyes lit but before he could comprehend how he would kill you, your Father released the molten river and the dragon sank below it.

"No! Father run. Bilbo run! It cannot hold him!" You said, your eyes flickering between the pair. Thorin saw you and his brows furrowed until his eyes widened when he saw something shift between the melted gold. Smaug was released and Laketown was in peril.

"Where is he?" You urged, trying to hide your anger behind the grit of your jaw.

Dwalin turned to put a arm on your shoulder put you shoved away. "Tyra, he is not in his right mind he-"

"He is putting us all in danger. He is risking the lives of countless innocent for his greed, Dwalin." You interrupted, Dwalin's gaze shifting to the ground.

"You know him, Lass. You know this is not who he truly is." Dwalin said softly.

Breathing out slowly, you sighed. "I know. But it doesn't change the fact that lives are at risk, Dwalin. We can't let him continue like this."

Taking a step aside to let you pass, Dwalin met your gaze. "I know." He said. "I know."

You nodded in solemn gratitude at his gesture and stepped past, opening the doors to the throne room. You forced your feet to push you forward. Thorin sat there, melting in his pride.

"Ah Tyra." He announced. "It is good to see you taking on your role as heir to my Kingdom."

You walked closer to the throne, taking in a breath. "How so?" You simply asked.
