How did you discover Wattpad?

I discovered Wattpad through my cousin. She was looking around online and found it. She recommended it to me and I tried it and I thought it was pretty cool!

How long have you had Wattpad, and how often do you use it?

I've been on Wattpad for about two years. I went on a hiatus for awhile because of school and family. But now I'm back and I get on about 4/5 times a day :P

Is there a meaning behind your username?

The is a meaning behind my name! I have Native American blood in me (Sioux and Cherokee) and my mother would try to take me to Pow-wows. At one of them, an elderly gentleman walked up to me and called me WishingStar. He told my mother that was my name and I've remembered it ever since!

Why did you start writing? What age did you discover your love for it?

I discovered writing as an escape. Without going into to many details, I didn't have the best life and the only time I could be happy or proud of myself was when I was writing. I was ten years old when I started and I just never stopped!

Who are you favourite authors? What are your favourite books? (Books on Wattpad count too!) What is your favourite genre?

My favorite authors are J.K. Rowling, James Patterson, Christopher Paolini, Rick Riordan, and Angie Sage. My favorite books are Harry Potter, Eragon, Septimus Heap, Maximum Ride, Percy Jackson, and Once upon a Marigold. (There's probably more that I can't think about!) My favorite genre is fantasy but I also love Romance, Adventure, Action, and Humor.

Do you want a career in writing?

I am actually working towards a career in writing. I am an English Writing Major in College!

Who supports you the most in your writing?

My friends. They've always been there and willing to listen to me babble non-stop until their ears bled and then still listened to more. They're my biggest fans and the best support!

Choose one of your books:

What is your book called? What genre is it? What is it about (2/3 lines)?

The Last Healer is a fantasy/romance novel with a bit of action and humor thrown in. The story is mainly one about healing, and not just the magical sense. Ariella grew up being beaten and hated; when she escapes from the abuse, she's not really sure what to expect with the new way of life.

What inspired you to write it?

I'm inspired because I want to help people who's been hurt or abused. I want them to realize they're not alone and they are special.

How often do you update? When was it last updated?

I try to update once a week, but it's been hard lately since my grandmother passed. So now I try to update at least every other week. It was updated about nine days ago.

How long are your chapters? Do you think short or long chapters are better?

Generally my chapters are about 5 or 6 pages, but there are longer and shorter ones. As for the length of a chapter, I don't really mind either way. I've been an avid reader for a long time so chapter or story lengths never bothered me. It's always been if the chapter was well written and interesting.

Are you proud of how well your book has done? Are you happy with the amount of reads it has?

I'm fairly proud of my book because it's telling the story that I want it to tell! While I'm excited about how many reads that I do have, I wish I had more but I know that this is a slow process but well worth the wait!

Do you have any advice for new authors?

My advice for new authors is this: Write what you want to write. If you want to write a cliche story that people will say "oh, I know how this ends," write it anyway. YOU are the author and YOU have to enjoy it.

The one other piece of advice I have, one that I'm learning myself. Stop worrying about the end, how things will work out. The resolution is the last thing you should worry about! Worry about the story itself, the characters, the love, the story line. Let the ending come to you, not the other way around.

This author's book has great potential and I like the idea of it. There is a great sense of visual language, however there are also some spelling mistakes which stop the book from being flawless. Go and check it out!
