How did you discover Wattpad?

I've discovered Wattpad through a friend. She joined the site and told me about the first story she posted here, inviting me, of course to join in and read, as well. At that time I wasn't too fond of sharing my writings online, but then, I changed my mind, seeing how many people actually write on the site. So, I decided to give it a try too. I followed her lead and joined in.

How long have you had Wattpad, and how often do you use it?

Hmm... I think I signed up approximately two years ago and started posting my first story, which was actually an excerpt, after a few days, maybe a week. Unfortunately, I didn't quite manage to use it as often as I would've liked to and as a result, after a few months of being here, I went on a long hiatus. I came back like a week ago and posted the first chapters from a cell phone novel I am writing on another site, as an experiment - to see how people take it. As of how often I'm currently using it... well, I've been "lurking" around, trying to find interesting pieces to read for a few days. However, I'm planning to pass by at least once a week. Depends on my schedule, pretty much.

Is there a meaning behind your username?

As a matter of fact, it is. Now, I don't know how many of your readers are acquainted with "Les Miserables" by Victor Hugo, but one of his characters, by her name Cosette, inspired me into choosing this name as a penname as well. Cosette is also considered to be a form of the name Nicole, which means "victorious people". Since the name as it is, was already taken as a username by someone else, I had to add something extra. "TN". One of the things that TN stands for is textnovel, which is the place I first started writing cell phone novels.

Why did you start writing? What age did you discover your love for it?

Why did I start writing? Haha, it all started with a story I had to write for school. I turned into a captive of my own imagination and my hand started to write on it's own, way more than I was expected to. That is when I discovered that I enjoy writing. I think I was 13 years old, then. I love writing because it's a way to grow, as a person, and I can also set my imagination free.

Who are you favourite authors? What are your favourite books? (Books on Wattpad count too!) What is your favourite genre?

If I were to list all of them... I'd not even be done by tomorrow, haha. Therefore, I'll only name a few. I will start with JK Rowling and her dear Harry Potter series, I'll continue with Isaac Asimov and his "Naked Sun", and I will end with Jane Austen and her "Pride and Prejudice". Do I really have to choose just one genre? Ack. I go with fantasy, in that case.

Do you want a career in writing?

Yes, I would love to pursue a career in writing, as it'd be, most likely, the most fulfilling - except the money part. Writing is part of my life and most likely, I wouldn't be able to go a day without it. Now, we'll see what the future holds.

Who supports you the most in your writing?

Good question. My friends, I believe, are the ones who always encourage me and critique my works. It's always a pleasure to get constructive criticism - and they are doing really well in offering me some. Now, this doesn't mean that they are only doing this. No. They are also, most of the times, telling me to continue writing, to keep going. (Thanks, everyone!)

Choose one of your books:

What is your book called? What genre is it? What is it about (2/3 lines)?

Since I've placed all of my other works on private, there is only one "book" I am currently posting on Wattpad. I called it "Pulse", since it is aimed at emphasizing the tremendous role society has one one's life. More specifically, the environment one lives in. On Wattpad, I labelled it as general fiction. However, the right label would be cell phone novel.

What inspired you to write it?

There are a lot of factors which led me to write this piece. One of them, as I already mentioned before, is society and people's attitudes towards people who suffer from depression, anxiety, self harm or are suicidal. My aim is to show what is actually causing all these people to do what they are doing.

How often do you update? When was it last updated?

I try to update it as often as I can. I think the last time I updated it on Wattpad was a few days ago, two or so.

How long are your chapters? Do you think short or long chapters are better?

Since cell phone novels consist of small chapters, as I showed in the introductory chapter to the story, "Pulse", as well, is based on short chapters. I am also writing a guide to CPNs, showing what they are and how they should be written like (not available on Wattpad yet), but basically, their short chapters is a mix between poetry and prose. Close to the epic genre. Honestly, the length of chapters doesn't necessarily matter. Although, in today's society, when people are always on the go, they prefer shorter chapters, as they are easier to read - they consume less time.

Are you proud of how well your book has done? Are you happy with the amount of reads it has?

The book is already at its beginning on Wattpad, since I only posted around 8 chapters so far. Therefore, it doesn't have many reads, to be frank. However, I consider it to be a good beginning. Of course, I wouldn't mind more readers and some opinions on it, votes and whatnot's, haha.

Do you have any advice for new authors?

Advice... yes. I've noticed how a lot of new authors often take constructive criticism the wrong way, meaning that if someone suggests to edit their story or to go over it again and check for spelling errors, for example, they often make a scene and say things such as "I give up". My advice is to keep in mind that practice makes perfect and to keep writing (of course, taking into consideration the critiques they received). Other than that, read. I highly encourage them to keep reading as much as they can. For those who are looking for more readers and such, they should try and interact as much as they can with others, as well. Oh and good luck to everyone and all!

This author's book is in a completely different style to any other type of book I've even read on Wattpad. It is a Cell Phone Novel, and as a result has very short and more poetic chapters. I really recommend it to people who like CPNs and poetry, but not for people who prefer longer novels. Check it out!
