How did you discover Wattpad?

One of my good friends, who is sadly no longer in my life, had been reading the books on Wattpad for quite a while. For days she told me to join and put my writing on here, but I was just so skeptical! But one day, I decided to do it. I'm so glad I did, too, it has become such a great experience!

 

How long have you had Wattpad, and how often do you use it?

I have been on Wattpad for two years, it'll be three this September (2015). I use it daily, except for when I have no WiFi, of course.

 

Is there a meaning behind your username?

Of course! OneRepublic is my favorite band, and they have done so many great things for me! So hence, my username!

 

Why did you start writing? What age did you discover your love for it?

I started writing my first story (a book of short stories) when I was about eight, so I've been writing for quite a while. I'm pretty sure I had occasionally written before that as well. For all I know, I was probably writing by the time I could pick up a writing utensil! So I think I've always had this talent and love for writing. It's as if my soul has been consumed by English literature, but I'm not even mad about it! 

Who are you favourite authors? What are your favourite books? (Books on Wattpad count too!) What is your favourite genre?

My favorite books, or series, would be Harry Potter! I think it always will be too! My favorite writers are J.K. Rowling, the author of that magical series, and Vince Gilligan, who is the creator of the hit TV show Breaking Bad. Most people won't understand my love for him, but for those who have watched that whole series and seen all of the genius behind it---Vince Gilligan! That man is a dark genius whose brain I really want. 

Do you want a career in writing?

Absolutely! That will be my main job, and my secondary one will be a director. After all, you don't need any degree to be an author, so I'll be working on getting a Masters in Film! After all, they go quite well together!

 

Who supports you the most in your writing?

My friends and fans (which are usually the same thing). Not family, they hardly do much to support that. However, some of my friends at school have read my stuff and like it, and my fans on Wattpad...well, they're the greatest!!

What is your book called? What genre is it? What is it about (2/3 lines)?

It is entitled Life Force (currently unfinished), and it is under Science Fiction. It is about a young woman named Jackie Martin who tries to survive the alien apocalypse, accompanied by some friends, her little sister, and a few soldiers of the Military.

 

What inspired you to write it?

I remember the exact thing that sparked the idea! I was just in my room writing and listening to music, when the song Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars (for The Hunger Games soundtrack) came on. The little foot stomping you hear in the background reminded me of bombs, and I guess I added aliens to it, used the song lyrics to come up with a young woman protecting her little sister, and viola! Life Force! 

How often do you update? When was it last updated?

I try to update every few days. The longest I've ever gone was three weeks, which was quite a while ago, and since then I've strayed away from even waiting one week! I last updated yesterday, too, and hopefully I'll get another chapter in tomorrow! 

How long are your chapters? Do you think short or long chapters are better?

My chapters vary, honestly. Some are long, some are average, but some are really short. But in all, I like pretty long chapters, but it also depends on quality. Like I say, it's always quality over quantity!

 

Are you proud of how well your book has done? Are you happy with the amount of reads it has?

 Oh, yes! I'd say, in my personal opinion as author, it is the best story I have done so far. I'm also very proud of it, for it has been in the top 1,000 for Science Fiction on Wattpad for about three months, which is way past my old record! It's gaining reads left and right too, with people adding it to their reading lists and such! It's fantastic! The success Wattpad has given me makes me the happiest person ever! I mean, you know when you work hard on something and then it gets success? It's one of the best feelings, right? Well, that's how I feel! It's absolutely wonderful!

Do you have any advice for new authors?

Passion, determination, and perseverance!!!!!

The prologue to this author's book was not only well written and clever to draw the reader's attention in, but also had an amazing story in how she presented it. The book is fantastic and I really loved the story line. ALthough I am not a love of sci-fi, I did think this was absolutely amazing and I recommend it to everyone!
