How did you discover Wattpad?

I discovered Wattpad through my creative writing A-level course at college. A few of my friends use it to write their own fiction so I thought that it would be a good idea to write my own fiction in and out of relation to the course.

How long have you had wattpad and how often do you use it?

I have had Wattpad for four months and I use it daily. I may not update daily although I do try but I definitely go on to read an chat with friends.

Is there a meaning behind your username?

Well yes. MonkyingAround was actually meant to be MonkeyingAround ... Unfortunately the character count meant I had to get rid of a letter. So the closest thing I could think of was MonkyingAround. I wanted that username as I always feel like I do a bit of messing around whether that be alone, with friends or with family so that is why I chose that nickname. The term to monkey around means to mess around from where I am from.

Why did you start writing? At what age did you discover your love for it?

I have always excelled at English. I do remember in Primary school I always used to write Doctor Who fan fictions whenever we got told to write whatever we wanted to so I guess that's where my love for writing started: Primary school. I'm musical as well and from the age of right I was always writing random song lyrics ... Although they never rhymed ... They were more sentences with a tune to them!

Who are your favourite authors?

What are your favourite books?

On Wattpad I love The Wave by script-ed, You Won't Feel A Thing by emiefaun Seasons Of Change by secretsmile1 and Waiting Aroud For You Feels Like Forever by Script5780

Outside of Wattpad I love Divergent, The Hunger Games, Matched, Carried and The Shining.

What is your favourite genre?

I love anything from fan fiction and romance to sci fi and dystopian fiction.

Do you want a career in writing?

I have always fancied the idea of being a journalist one day.

Who supports you most in your writing?

My teachers who spot my mistakes and tell me to correct them and my friends who spot my mistakes and say 'you idiot, you might want to change that!'

_______________

My book: Army Of Angels.

What is your book about?

It's a The Script fan fiction set in World War One and follows a young soldier as he finds the beauty and pain of first love and the horrors of the war.

What inspired you to write it?

My passion for the Great War and the Christmas Truce.

How often do you update? When was this last updated?

Well this story was finished on the 25th of January 2015. I try to update daily unless I am struggling with a complete lapse of motivation.

How long are your chapters? Do you think long or short chapters are better?

My chapters are fairly long. They are about three or four pages normally. They can be five, six or even seven pages. I prefer long chapters as I really like to get every detail out. I love it when other authors do long chapters too as, once again, I love to read every detail.

Are you proud of how well your book has done? Are you happy with the amount of reads it has?

Yes I am definitely proud of how well this book has done. In my eyes the amount of reads votes and comments doesn't reflect how well a book has been written. A good book could be written and for it only to have ten votes and one hundred views, people see that book as a poorly written book. My book has nearly 2000 reads and over 200 votes and I am proud of that because that is my achievement. You will often find that the stories who have millions of views are just reused regurgitated plots. The real beauties are beneath the surface.

Do you have any advice for new authors?

Two words ... HAVE FUN!

This author's book is certainly different to most things I've read before. The plot is certainly unique and unusual, but I think that it works well. 'Army Of Angels' is very well written and I recommend it to anyone who likes The Script and/or WWI fiction.
