Calum: It was kind of hard to be around Calum. He's your best friends' ex. You still had strong feelings for him, especially when they broke up, but it was the "rules". But being really good friends with him and the other boys, you couldn't just stop being friends with them! Could you? Nah. You'd miss them too much. "Y/N we're going to the pool. Wanna come?" Ashton asked you waggling his eyebrows. You laughed and lightly tapped his leg with your foot. "Sure why not?" You ran upstairs to put on your swimsuit and fell over as you were putting on the bottoms (hehe you're clumsy). It made kind of a loud noise and you heard footsteps running up the stairs, followed by a knock on the door. "Y/N? Are you ok? I thought I heard you die or something." You smiled at Calum's voice and hurriedly pulled on the remains of your swimsuit and opened the door. "Hi. Yeah I'm good. Just having some technical difficulties." He raised his eyebrows and his eyes scanned over your body. "Nothing looks wrong to me!" He said with a smirk. "Very classy Calum." You joked and walked with him down to the deck. Luke and Ashton were already in the pool with various floaties and noodles. Michael was in the shade playing his DS. (Wear sunscreen Mikey.) You slid off your flip flops and set down your towel next to Michael. He looked up and smiled at you. "Hi Y/N. You look hot." Before you could say anything, Calum came up behind you. "Dude. Not cool." He said to Michael and took off his shirt, revealing his toned chest and torso. Your breath hitched and you looked away. Mikey seemed to notice and he smirked at you from beneath his sunglasses. You made the cutting throat motion and shook your head. He chuckled and went back to his Pokemon training. Your phone buzzed and you looked at the message from Y/B/F. 

You better not be banging Calum right now :P No but seriously. He's such an ass. Just stay away from him and you'll be fine. I'll be really pissed if I find out he's flirting with you. Like you could like him! Ha! Love you loser   

Charming. You decided not to answer and you walked over to the pool and sat on the edge with your feet dangling into the clear water. Luke swam over to you and pretended to pull you in. You nudged him and he laughed. "Are you going to come in?" He asked as Ashton got out of the pool and shook out his hair like a dog. "Eventually..." You said drawing it out. Luke's eyes darted to the right and before you knew it, Ashton had picked up Calum and threw him in the pool. He reached the surface and spit out water and ran his hands through his black hair. "Ok I'll give you that one Irwin." You started giggling and his eyes landed on you and he smiled. You were nice and calm until you felt Ashton's arms lift you off the edge of the pool. "Aw crap." You muttered and he launched you into the air towards Calum. Cal moved slightly and caught you before you could go underwater. Everything seemed to stop as you two looked into each others' eyes. "Th-Thanks." You mumbled. He nodded and kept his hands on your waist. "GET A ROOM!" Michael screamed at you and Calum.

Michael: "Just tell him how you feel?" Your cousin told you while eating chips. You sighed and pulled on your hair. "I can't Y/C/N. For a few reasons." You said stressed. She raised an eyebrow and swallowed. "Like what?" You took a deep breath. "Well for one, he's been my best friend for 8 years. Two, it would make things awkward. And....I know I'm forgetting something. Oh yeah! He's engaged to someone else!!!" You yelled and put your arms and head on the table. "There are worse situations." Your cousin said. You scoffed. "Like what?" "He could be gay. Or dead." She had a point. Although a gay Michael would make a great buddy. You groaned and buried your face in your arms. "What do I do Y/C/N? I really love him." You said slightly muffled. You heard her sigh and she rubbed your arm. "I don't know Y/N. But you could always just tell him the truth." You made a dying whale noise and sat up. "I hate it when you're right. What do I do if he doesn't want to see me again? I don't know if I could handle that. Let alone him already being off limits." Your cousin blinked. "I don't know. It's hard to tell what he'll do." You nodded and grabbed your keys and walked out the door and drove to Mikey's. You knocked on his door, your hand trembling with nerves. Michael's fiancee, Zoey answered the door. "Hi Y/N! Are you looking for Michael? I can go grab him real quick." You nodded and she smiled and told you to wait a second. Even though she was the one that you were supposed to hate, she was one of the sweetest girls in the world. Which made this whole thing a lot harder. A few seconds later, he was at the door with the biggest smile on his face. "Y/N!!!" He yelled and pulled you into a bear hug. You smiled and squished him. "Hi Mikey. Can we go somewhere and talk?" You asked, your heart beating faster. He pulled away and nodded. "Of course. Where to?" You ended up taking him to an ice cream place, then to the field where you and Michael spent a lot of time growing up. You both sat on the grass, licking your ice cream and looking at the clouds in the sky. "So what did you want to talk to me about?" Michael asked licking melted ice cream off his thumb. You didn't know how to start. You took a deep breath and looked into his green eyes. "Mikey, I need to get something off my chest and if I don't say it now, I probably won't get another chance." He nodded and he was listening to every word you had to say. "Michael. I'm in love with you." His eyes widened, and his ice cream fell on the ground. "You-You're what?" He asked. You closed your eyes to ignore the look on his face. "I've been in love with you for 8 years. I know this is a really bad time to tell you, but I needed to. It was killing me." You felt his hands on both sides of your face and you opened your eyes. His green ones were piercing into yours. "Why didn't you tell me Y/N?" He asked softly. You blinked away your tears and sniffed. "B-Because I thought you'd ignore me for the rest of my life if I told you." He shook his head and bit his lip. "I could never do that to you. I love you Y/N." You held your breath as he leaned in and placed a soft kiss on your lips. When he pulled back, you could feel your lips tingling. "So was that a friendship kiss?" You asked and Michael laughed. "If it was, we must be very close. I'd say it's not a friendship kiss because we're even closer."
